Position: Solidworks Designer

Reports to: Engineering Manager

Education: Minimum - associate's degree in drafting design

Experience: Minimum - 5 years of Solidworks experience

Status: Hourly, exempt

Job Summary:

The position of CAD Drafter/Designer entails working with engineers and project managers to prepare engineering drawings, generate design documents from sketches and/or marked-up drawings using Solidworks. Our client needs a mechanical designer to provide support on 3-D CAD drawings. Candidates need to have experience with designing mechanical drawings that could include: mechanical equipment, HVAC, piping, etc. Candidates should have Solidworks design software experience, with 5+ years of design experience is also plus. Will be working with other design disciplines, and must be self-motivated and willing to learn. Projects will include new facility design.

Knowledge/Skills Required:

* Knowledge of basic drafting skill and methods using Solidworks

* Expertise in industry accepted drafting standards

* Effective time management skills

* Experience in working with a CAD team

* Ability to work flexible hours with some weekend and holiday work required

* Excellent communication skills to be able to interface between all internal disciplines

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with internal and external team members.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Develop detailed Solidworks drawings from sketches, notes, and other input materials.

2. Complete assignments on time as scheduled.

3. Prepare engineering drawings.

4. Identify and prioritize tasks necessary to complete projects.
