Job Description

Job Title: Cybersecurity Engineer


Normally reports to: Director of IT Operations

  • Compensation: The base salary range for this role is $115k - $135k annually. The final offer will be based on skills and experience relevant to the role.


Job Objective: The Cybersecurity Engineer designs, implements, and maintains security systems to protect RelaDyne's computer networks from cyber threats. This role plays a key part in establishing and upholding cybersecurity standards and policies and provides expert support for security-related IT issues. The ideal candidate has strong experience in cybersecurity, with broad technical skills across infrastructure, scripting, cloud platforms, and directory services. Excellent time management, communication, and organization are essential.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities In addition to the essential job functions described below, all associates will perform duties as requested by management.



  • Lead risk management, threat assessment, incident response, and remediation efforts.
  • Develop and implement security measures, tools, and processes to protect systems and data.
  • Monitor systems for vulnerabilities, threats, and incidents; conduct regular security assessments.
  • Research, design, and maintain secure infrastructure, including IAM, network, and cloud security.
  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to ensure security is integrated into hardware, software, and project lifecycles.
  • Guide vulnerability remediation, compliance initiatives, and regulatory audits (e.g., SOC 2, PCI, NIST).
  • Maintain and improve cybersecurity standards, policies, and documentation.
  • Contribute to automation, detection logic, and response playbooks to enhance security operations.
  • Provide reporting on security incidents, risks, and trends; participate in investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Mentor colleagues on security best practices and foster a culture of security awareness.
  • Manage and participate in special projects and strategic initiatives.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity tools (e.g., firewalls, scanners, penetration testing, cloud-native security).
  • Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Perl).
  • Understanding of security frameworks, policies, and regulations (PCI DSS, HIPAA, NIST, GDPR).
  • Experience with compliance and audit processes and Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) tools.
  • Familiarity with adversary tactics (TTPs), threat detection, and incident response.
  • Expertise in secure network, application, and system architecture design.
  • Strong understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure, and Office 365 environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, prioritize workloads, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to build cross-functional relationships.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong judgment and decision-making; experience mentoring others in security best practices.


Required:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field
  • Master's degree strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of cybersecurity experience, including security engineering
  • Experience with cloud-based, enterprise-level systems
  • Ability to work remotely but must remain flexible and available to travel to work sites as needed to effectively perform job responsibilities.

  • CISSP certification
