Overview
The Advisory Consultants for TRC Companies' Infrastructure, Policy & Advisory (IP&A) division play a pivotal role in delivering consulting engagements for energy and utility clients. Advisory Consultants are part of the Integrated Strategy and Advisory Services Advisory teams. These practitioners will have primary responsibility for delivering quality services to clients by supporting client proposals, delivering high-quality client engagements, fostering client relationships, and providing thought leadership to support clients in achieving their strategic goals. The position requires a strong blend of consulting expertise, industry insight, and a passion for delivering exceptional client value and for mentoring team members.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities (Duties)
- Client Engagement Delivery
- Develop an understanding of customer business processes and translate them into actionable requirements.
- Lead projects, coordinating planning and documentation by organizing deliverable, timelines and data for internal and client-facing use.
- Lead business case development, technology roadmaps, and strategic planning.
- Facilitate and support workshops, stakeholder meetings, and working sessions.
- Prepare polished presentations and deliverables tailored for stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to internal best practices.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with technical teams and senior consultants to execute consulting engagements.
- Client Relationship Building
- Develop and nurture long-term partnerships with clients, identifying opportunities for growth and collaboration.
- Represent TRC's IP&A division at industry events, and forums to enhance visibility and our network with stakeholders.
- Thought Leadership
- Provide innovative insights and strategic guidance to clients on energy policy, infrastructure planning, and regulatory challenges and engagements.
- Maintain knowledge of technology partners' offerings that can benefit our clients.
- Maintain awareness of competitors' offerings and strategies.
- Contribute subject matter expertise in industry-related sciences and technologies to enhance the breadth and depth of TRC's advisory services.
- Conduct research, create white papers, and contribute to strategic reports and presentations to showcase TRC's expertise in the energy and utilities sector, and in related sciences, technologies, and industries.
- Develop knowledge of how transformation thinking (such as applications of Artificial Intelligence) can be applied to IP&A clients and internally.
- Business Development and Strategy
- Escalate opportunities to collaborate with clients within the Advisory.
- Recognize cross-client themes and opportunities to develop Advisory offerings.
- Support business development initiatives, responses to Requests for Proposal and Requests for Information, and contribute to proposal creation as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited school or university.
- Three or more years of experience in the utility industry or a consulting environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products
- Capable of maintaining a high energy level to handle a dynamic, fast-paced workload.
- Comfortable creating high-quality documentation, research materials and polished presentations for clients.
- Ability to interact professionally with client stakeholders, including senior leadership.
- Excellent organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate Degree from an accredited school or university
- Subject Matter Expertise in sciences and topics related to the utilities industry, such as Meteorology, Fire Science, Electrical, Mechanical and Civil Engineering, Field Services / Dispatch Operations, etc.
- Subject Matter Expertise in technologies related to the utilities industry, such as OMS, EMS, ADMS, GIS, Remote Sensing, etc.
- Data Analytics and/or AI Expertise
- Experience authoring presentations, articles, and other collateral relevant to the energy and utility industries.
- Proactive attitude toward continuous improvement and process optimization.

Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors. Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.

Salary Range
USD $168,085.00 - USD $185,515.00 /Yr.
