About the Opportunity:

The Quality Systems Engineer works towards continuous quality improvement. It is responsible for administration, coordination and maintenance of the Quality Management System according to the requirements of the standards ISO9001:2015, AS9100D, Internal requirements and customer specific requirements.

Location: South Windsor, CT
This position is 100% on site.

Responsibilities:

  • Development, implementation, improvement and maintenance of the processes, procedures and forms related to the administration of quality systems.
  • Maintain the Standard Operating Procedure content and coordinate the issuing of these documents.
  • Representative for AS9100 audit.
  • Support communication and closure of RCCA (internal/external)
  • Oversee effective implementation of the Quality Management System throughout the company, including any business accreditations.
  • Organize and manage the plant internal audit system and the corrective action reporting system.
  • Provide training on Quality issues and business processes.
  • Collate quality data for monitoring targets.
  • Assist with training of quality awareness.
  • Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in order to adhere to process and prevent occurrence of any non-conformity relating to product, process or system.
  • Undertake special projects as required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities.
  • Attend various meetings and action/communicate instructions.
  • Manages Corrective Action Program.
  • Manages the Internal Audit Program.
  • Maintain training records as needed.
  • Document control/revisions (procedures, specs, prints, CIDs, forms etc.)
  • Create, maintain and track Material Discrepancy Reports.
  • All other duties assigned by the Quality Manager.

Required Qualifications:

  • Relevant business/commercial or manufacturing.
  • Five to seven years of experience in quality assurance or manufacturing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Knowledge of Quality Systems ISO 9001:2015, AS9100
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Fluent English required (80% real) Spoken and Written
  • Proficient in computer skills and hands on experience with Microsoft applications, in particular Excel
  • Teamwork and respect to others
  • Experience with inside company peer's relationship, assertive communication
  • Excellence mentality and to be eager to improve what is done in the company
  • Must be a self-starter, highly motivated and responsible
  • Knowledge and experience in NADCAP: Non-Destructive Testing & Non-Conventional Machining, Other NADCAP disciplines are a plus
  • Working knowledge of Aerospace, GEAE, Rolls Royce, Honeywell specifications is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques is a plus. Physical Requirements:
  • Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
