Full-Time/Regular STGi is currently seeking a Van Driver to provide services at The William R. Courtney Texas State Veterans Home. The William R. Courtney Texas State Veterans Home is located in Temple, TX. Our staff provides compassionate and specialized care to our nation's veterans. We focus on providing the best experience for residents and their families. JOB SUMMARY: To support the community by safely transporting residents to and from appointments and outings. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Maintain safety objectives and standards in accordance with current regulations and guidelines. 2. Accumulate, maintain and provide van and other logs and records as directed. 3. Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the administrator concerning safety procedures and van repairs and maintenance. 4. Be able to adjust to changes in assignments to meet resident and community needs. 5. Participate in in-service and other meetings as directed. 6. Agree not to disclose assigned user ID codes or other resident/community communication; promptly report suspected or known violations of such disclosure to the Administrator. 7. Interact with residents', family members, provider representatives and other team members in a respectful manner. 8. Work cooperatively with other department personnel to assure safety procedures meet the needs of the community and residents. 9. Maintain an excellent working relationship with medical professionals and other health related facilities and organizations. 10. Ensure that established safety precautions are implemented and followed at all times. 11. Inspect/test van and lift devices in accordance with established policies and procedures. 12. Be able to locate and correctly use emergency equipment such as fire extinguishers. 13. Report moving violations and/or other citations/arrests which could potentially affect the driving license or other conditions of the job. 14. Demonstrate ability to identify and respond appropriately to potential resident behavioral outbursts. 15. Interact with residents', family members, provider representatives and other team members in a respectful manner. 16. Accept other assignments as directed. 17. Adhere to meal, break and clock in/out procedures. 18. Maintain safe driving protocols including vehicle maintenance checks. 19. Demonstrate excellent customer service skills. 20. Willing to support the community and residents as required. Required Skills
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: Must possess a valid driver's license with minimum of two years driving experience and meet the company driver record requirements. Required Experience
REQUIRED EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED required. WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands and work environment described herein is a representative of those that generally must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job: * This position primarily involves standing, walking, twisting, reaching, bending/stooping, pushing and pulling (typical weight of 5 lbs. and maximum weight of 50 lbs., approximately), and lifting (minimum weight of 5 lbs. and maximum weight of 75 lbs., approximately). * The position requires repetitive finger movements as well as hearing and talking on the phone and in person. * Must be able to continuously deal effectively with stress created by residents, multiple tasks, noises, interruptions, and work cooperatively as part of the health care team while maintaining a pleasant attitude.
