Description

Summary: Reporting to the Director of The Lawrenceville Fund, the Associate Director of The Lawrenceville Fund will conduct personalized donor visits to support the unrestricted annual fund, as well as managing a cohort of volunteers including Class Agents, Reunion Class Agents and the 1810 Loyalty Society. This role will leverage a range of digital channels-including video, email, texting, social media, phone, and virtual meetings-to cultivate relationships, solicit gifts, and steward donors through individual outreach.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Manage a Donor Portfolio to Conduct Gift Solicitation and Stewardship Meetings:

  • Oversee and build relationships with a dynamic portfolio of 200+ prospects, with a goal of completing 100+ personal visits annually.
  • Engage these individuals through a variety of digital platforms to drive solicitation and foster meaningful interactions.
  • Focus on upgrading donors from regular giving levels to larger contributions, including Red and Black Leadership level gifts.
  • Steward current donors to ensure continued support and increased giving

Volunteer and Class Management

  • Recruit, train, and engage a cohort of volunteers, including Class Agents and Reunion Class Agents collaborating on peer to peer solicitations and stewardship
  • Work with volunteers to help classes achieve dollar and donor goals, with a special emphasis on Reunion Giving, including the milestone 25th Reunion
  • Keep volunteer resources and training materials up to date
  • Work with our Volunteer Management System to maximize volunteer outreach and track results
  • Contribute to Volunteer Communications, including our volunteer newsletter

1810 Loyalty Society

  • Manage 1810 Loyalty Society volunteers, collaborating on peer to peer solicitations and stewardship and member virtual events
  • Partner with the Director of Advancement Communications and Donor Relations on 1810 stewardship and donor recognition for society members
  • Continue to grow membership in the 1810 Loyalty Society

Donor Insight and Analysis:

  • Analyze giving trends and track progress towards fundraising goals. Work with the Director of Research and Prospect Management and the Director of The Lawrenceville Fund to identify opportunities for donor acquisition and engagement based on data-driven insights.

Community Engagement:

  • Represent The Lawrenceville School within the broader community of alumni, parents, and friends, reinforcing the School's commitment to its mission and enhancing donor relationships.
  • Attend on campus, local, and regional events to represent the School as needed.

Other

  • Serve as team lead for aspects of GiveCampus platform, including tracking and managing recurring gifts
  • Serve as team lead for THNKS donor appreciation platform
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Two to three years of development experience and/or direct solicitation experience required
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, achievement-oriented, and committed to teamwork and collaboration.
  • Must be able to speak with alumni and other constituents about supporting Lawrenceville's unrestricted annual fund.
  • Must be able to work earnestly and cooperatively as a team with coworkers, and give and receive feedback.
  • Must be able to work in a friendly and collegial manner, with a thorough appreciation for the goals and mission of Lawrenceville, the interests of independent secondary education, and an understanding of liberal education as well as the operations that attend to schools of that nature.
  • Must have a high level of ability to work cooperatively and respectfully with all types of constituents
  • Must be able to analyze and determine strategies for engagement and fund development, and must be able to present frequent goal analysis and results and be prepared to suggest new strategies when appropriate.
  • Should have some experience with class segmentation and be able to identify specific alumni constituencies within classes.
  • Must possess clear, concise, and effective writing and speaking skills.
  • Ability to work with discretion at all times; must be able to keep all data confidential concerning Lawrenceville and its constituencies.
  • Proficient with technology, Microsoft Office Suite and Google software.

  • Must be capable of using visual display terminal with continuous wrist movement on a keyboard
  • Required to stand for long periods of time

  • Required to work evenings, weekends and holidays in conjunction with School calendar and events
  • Must be able to lift up to 25lbs. without assistance
  • Ability to see with normal parameters.
