POSITION SUMMARY

The Production Trainer will have the responsibility to deliver hands-on training to new and existing production employees, maintaining training records, ensure safety protocols are followed and assure adherence to our Quality System guidelines.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Must complete and demonstrate proficiency in training others, in accordance with the TWI Train the Trainer Program.
  • Complete the OJT Trainer OJT Plan.
  • Responsible for training new employees on the shop floor for at least 30 days following the completion of Core Skills Training, adhering to the TWI Train the Trainer techniques and the New Flyer Institute's work instructions for OJT.
  • Create and implement training programs related to electrical production processes, which cover safety protocols, system operations, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Assess the effectiveness of training and make necessary adjustments to the curriculum and delivery methods based on participant feedback and performance evaluations.
  • Facilitate hands-on training sessions that demonstrate practical skills, ensuring that participants become proficient in the required techniques and safety practices.
  • Work together with operations and engineering teams to ensure that training materials reflect current practices and technologies.
  • Maintain accurate training records and provide regular updates on training progress and outcomes to management.
  • Act as a resource for staff by offering support and guidance regarding questions and issues related to electrical production.
  • Promote a culture of safety by ensuring that all training programs prioritize compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Delegate tasks to department trainees and oversee efficient product flow.
  • Communicate effectively regarding quality or personnel issues to supervisors, managers, and engineers.
  • Additional or extended work hours may be required.
  • Some shift work will be necessary.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years as a technician.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems and production processes within the manufacturing context.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex concepts in a clear and engaging manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must be able to complete and understand analysis of numbers; read, analyze and interpret written materials.
  • Demonstrate teamwork/leadership skills in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail, organization and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to connect with diverse groups of people.
