Responsibilities

We are seeking a Senior-level Systems Engineer to lead and guide multi-disciplinary engineering teams across mission-critical programs within the National System for Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG), Allied System for Geospatial-Intelligence (ASG), and other Federal Agencies. This role requires strategic technical leadership and deep systems integration expertise to ensure the delivery of timely, reliable, and accurate GEOINT capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

    Lead teams of Mid- and Junior-level systems engineers across the full systems engineering lifecycle including requirements, solutions engineering, scheduling, integration, testing, maintainability, and analysis.

  • Provide technical systems engineering and integration support for transition architecture solutions at external GEOINT sites.

  • Develop transition plans, coordinate readiness activities, and manage formal Installation, Checkout, and Test (IC&T) events to ensure operational continuity.

  • Analyze and trace user requirements and architectures to identify opportunities for system automation and enhancement, especially in cloud-based environments.

  • Guide design and development of technical solutions based on evolving mission needs and emerging technologies.

  • Support the Government in translating mission and user needs into actionable system/capability requirements and architecture solutions.

  • Perform and support systems integration across complex architectures and program portfolios.

  • Conduct Analysis of Alternatives (AoA), Course of Action (CoA) evaluations, trade studies, and engineering assessments.

  • Assist with strategic planning, project management, risk analysis, performance engineering, and interface design.

  • Operate at the enterprise level to integrate systems, services, and processes across large-scale acquisitions and agency boundaries.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in systems engineering, integration, and lifecycle support within the NSG, ASG, or similar Federal environments.

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex technical programs.

  • Strong background in systems architecture, cloud services, and mission continuity planning.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.



Qualifications

Skills and Experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Systems Engineering or in related technical or scientific fields such as engineering, physics, mathematics, operations research, engineering management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related STEM degree program, or 12 years of experience as a Systems Engineer in lieu of degree.
  • 12+ years of working experience in government or industry in relevant work areas including: DoD/IC Acquisition Process, Requirements Process, PPBES Process or system engineering of large complex System of Systems or Service Oriented Architecture/Cloud environments.
  • Experience with and strong understanding of systems engineering lifecycle.
  • TS/SCI clearance adjudication or ability to obtain SCI and pass a poly.

Desired:

  • Master's degree in Systems Engineering or in related technical or scientific fields such as engineering, physics, mathematics, operations research, engineering management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related STEM degree program.
  • Working knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering, processes, tools and languages.
  • Working knowledge of Software Development Frameworks.
  • INCOSE Certified System Engineering Professional (CSEP) certification.
  • Documented work experience in the field of geospatial intelligence.
  • Licensure as a professional engineer.
  • Membership or leadership participation in any of the following professional organizations:
    • ACSM
    • ASCE
    • ASPRS
    • OGC
    • SAREM
    • USGIF
  • Demonstrated expertise in photogrammetry, remote sensing, image science, information sciences, geographic information systems, geomatics, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the current NSG/ASG and NRO enterprises.

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
