DIvision of Information Technology Job Description
This position will be a member of the Enterprise Service Management development and administration team. The primary responsibility will be to develop new features for campus IT groups, and UM/MU departments that use the University of Missouri's Enterprise Service Management solution. To include TeamDynamix Client Portal, Ticketing, and Asset application development and administration, troubleshooting of reported issues, fixing development bugs, and maintaining the health of the Enterprise Service Management solution. The position will also be responsible to complete routine system maintenance, performance monitoring/analysis and be included in on-call rotation. In this role, the developer will be expected to work closely with their fellow Enterprise Service Management team members and with other campus IT groups and departments. Identifying requirements, preparing solution proposals, developing solutions, coordinate user acceptance testing, participate in knowledge transfer and end user documentation development.We use Agile development methodologies to organize our work and publishing changes on a routine basis. Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm CST Evening, weekend and call-in work may be required to meet deadlines and correct system failures. Minimum Qualifications
-Working knowledge of or proven capability to quickly learn programming language(s), operating systems, a text editor, report generators, database management, direct access techniques, remote processing and virtual systems to be utilized / supported within the hiring operating unit. -Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, code versioning and repositories. - Experience with server-side programming such as C#, Javascript, HTML5, bootstrap 5, Powershell 7 and ASP.NET core. -Knowledge of data modeling concepts and design techniques, database definitions, testing and debugging databases, generating and maintaining database management systems, and applying security concepts while designing and maintaining database structure's data integrity. -Knowledge and experience using university-preferred content management systems to create and maintain websites. -Knowledge of website optimization -Knowledge of accessibility -Knowledge of standard website security practices -Practical experience writing in one or more programming languages or 4th generation languages for multi-use/multitasking environments. -Effective communication and interpersonal skills - sufficient to effectively elicit IT information from users, train users in technical procedures / design, and document IT related procedures. -Strong documentation skills -Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of a work assignment and to participate as a member of a cross departmental project team. -Time management skills and organizational ability for project management. -Ability to work under pressure; meet inflexible deadlines; deal with difficult individuals while maintaining composure. -Ability to multitask with strict time constraints -Evening, weekend and call-in work may be required to meet deadlines and correct system failures. Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of data modeling concepts and database design techniques, testing, debugging, and performance tuning databases and web applications, and applying security concepts while designing and maintaining database data integrity. Prefer Microsoft SQL Server experience over other database environments. Some Azure cloud experience with SQL Managed Instance or SQL Database is desired Effective communication and interpersonal skills - sufficient to effectively elicit IT information from users, train end users in technical processes, and document IT related procedures. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of a work assignment and to participate as a member of a cross departmental project team.
