Emergency Trauma Tech - Per Diem - Nights - 135908

The Emergency Tech works as a team member in an assigned area to assist with vital signs, reassessments, stocking supplies and transporting patients under the direct supervision of the RN. Collects patient care data. Collects, labels and transports specimens. Performs secretarial duties as needed. Assists other teams in the ED as needed. Coordinates the schedule for the techs and participates in leadership meetings.

• BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.

• Minimum one (1) year of recent experience in an emergency department, pre-hospital, or critical care setting.

• Demonstrated computer knowledge and skills.

• Must be able to function in a fast-paced environment, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and consistently demonstrate empathy and kindness to all staff and patients.

• California EMT and/or CNA certification.

• Bilingual (Spanish/English).

• Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, on-call and locations based on the 24-hour Medical Center's business needs.
• Must be able to work at East Campus, UCSD Hillcrest and La Jolla hospitals. Employees will float between the Emergency Department and Inpatient Transition departments.
• Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
