POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

Alutiiq Operations Services, LLC has an exciting opportunity for a Water Treatment Plant (IWTP) Supervisor supporting Tinker Air Force Base located in Oklahoma City, OK. The IWTP Supervisor supervises, assigns, and reviews performance of the work of staff responsible for the operation and maintenance of the base's water treatment plants and related facilities including pump stations, lift stations, storage reservoirs, and sludge handling facilities.



  • Ensures compliance with federal and state water quality guidelines and regulations.
  • Establishes schedules and methods for providing water treatment plant services.
  • Identifies resource needs.
  • Reviews needs with appropriate management staff.
  • Allocates resources accordingly.
  • Participates in the development of goals and objectives as well as policies and procedures.
  • Makes recommendations for changes and improvements to existing standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Participates in the implementation of approved policies and procedures.
  • Monitors work activities to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Participates in the selection of assigned water treatment staff.
  • Provides or coordinate staff training.
  • Works with employees to correct deficiencies.
  • Implements discipline procedures.
  • Prepares regulatory reports for various regulatory agencies on water treatment plant performance, water quality, and water sources.
  • Conducts daily inspections of water system pumps, motors, meters and electrical systems for needed maintenance and repairs
  • Oversees the application of all water treatment related chemicals to base's water system, as needed.
  • Operates and maintain all water treatment processes equipment.
  • Reviews new projects as necessary to include: Reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, maps, specifications and technical manuals.
  • Implements appropriate safety measures to remain compliant with local, state, federal, base, and company regulations.
  • Maintains records concerning operations and programs.
  • Prepares reports on operations and activities.
  • Participates in ordering equipment and supplies for the plant.
  • Assists in preparing specifications and bid packages for purchase of new equipment.
  • Responds to and resolves difficult and sensitive client inquiries and complaints in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Responds to emergency situations as necessary.
  • Coordinates assigned water treatment plant activities with those of other departments as necessary.
  • Attends and participates in professional group meetings.
  • Maintains awareness of new trends and developments in the field of water treatment.
  • Incorporates new developments as appropriate into programs.
  • Work also involves other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma
  • Seven years of increasingly responsible experience in water treatment plant maintenance and operations, including one year of lead supervisory responsibility
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Class A license
  • Hepatitis Vaccination
  • Tetanus Vaccination
  • Ability to guide employees through an array of situations in a professional manner
  • Ability to address clients in a formal setting utilizing basic adult learning concepts
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite
  • Trained in the use of first aid and lifesaving techniques
  • Ability to analyze a variety problems and develop solutions
