*Description*
What you will do *Perform hardware, software and system installation, integration and testing for power systems applications and projects. *Configure Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition (SCADA) control and monitoring connections to the electric grid. *Manage stringent uptime requirements by coordinating between users, redundant systems, sites, and processes. *Providing client support and assistance as needed. *Responsible for planning, integrating, testing, and commissioning schematics, databases, UI's and displays to support grid operations processes. *Develop and maintain power system application models, interfaces, processes, reports, and documentation. *Create training materials and project documentation as needed. What you bring *Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Systems Engineering, Computer Science or related disciplines or equivalent combination of education and experience. *Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team *Excellent analytical and problem solving skills *Deep understanding of computer architecture, networking, databases, and operating systems * Support group is different than normal IT * No break fix model * High availability- redundancy and sys admin work is needed * EIMM- buying and selling the diff between what is scheduled and what is used. * Scada is used in other utilities like gas and water also- everything is engineered, so TEP is different than SRP etc. * Solutions are different and geared differently- don't write our own software, but we integrate. * No exp in power controls and utilities and then we look for do they understand integration and electrical engineering and the electronic principles of what we are doing? * They are behind the modeling side and how you set the computer system up. Focus on SCADA training to start managing what you do with that power you are bringing in and getting rid of and how you are balancing all of that. * Forecasting, calculations * Sharing the information to make business decisions, energy accounting- tying these things to our customer care systems where you get calls for reporting outages to T&D building stuff. *Skills* hardware installation, software installation, configuration, testing, validation, computer architecture, networking, databases, operating systems *Additional Skills & Qualifications* Will provide training if they do not have the power control systems experience. * Does this position allow for 2 weeks of PTO and paid holidays?- yes * Does this position sit at corporate HQ or Irvington?- Tues/wed, no on call. Irvington location in the control center. * How many interviews? 1 phone call and then an on-site interview?- Teams, one step * What kind of skill sets would translate well for this position if they were willing to train on the power control systems?- computer roles a couple years of computer or software experience, fresh graduate also totally fine with the mentioned degrees. * How many years of experience? 1-2 *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
