Spacesuit Test Engineer

Location: Johnson Space Center | JETS II Program

We are currently seeking a Spacesuit Test Engineer to join our team through our JETS II contract. In this role, you'll support the design, development, testing, and certification of next-generation Extravehicular Activity (EVA) spacesuits.

What You'll Do:
  • Lead and perform test and project engineering functions related to EVA spacesuit hardware.

  • Develop and execute comprehensive test documentation including test plans, procedures, hazard analyses, and Test Readiness Review (TRR) materials.

  • Design and execute test setups and rigs, including instrumentation and data acquisition system integration.

  • Coordinate testing activities with NASA test facilities and technical teams.

  • Analyze test data and prepare detailed reports and documentation of results.

  • Troubleshoot and support mechanical and electrical issues across spacesuit hardware and supporting systems.

  • Become certified as a Suit Test Engineer and lead operational test execution.

  • Apply sound engineering principles to develop solutions and drive innovation in EVA technology.

  • Support other duties and special projects as required.

What We're Looking For:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.

  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant engineering experience.

  • Strong communication skills (oral and written).

  • Ability to coordinate across multidisciplinary teams.

  • Solid understanding of engineering concepts including mechanical/electrical systems, system testing, material selection, and interpreting technical drawings.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a project or test engineer in a relevant field.

  • Familiarity with NASA testing protocols and environments.

  • Exposure to electro-mechanical hardware (e.g., pumps, valves, heating elements, sensors).

  • Experience with life support or oxygen systems.

  • LabVIEW programming knowledge is a plus.

Additional Information:

  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residency may be required.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
  • Primarily office-based with occasional lab or test facility work.

  • May involve sitting or standing for extended periods; occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.

  • Standard office equipment usage (PC, phone, printer).

  • Must maintain regular attendance and be available for schedule adjustments during peak periods.
