The Clinical Research Unit (CRU) is a gateway to clinical research within VCU Health. We are committed to facilitating inter-disciplinary clinical research & providing comprehensive care to support growth & expansion of clinical research throughout the health system. By providing services at locations where patients already receive care in the health system, we hope to increase our patient's and communities' access to research for better treatments and cures.
This position will include: - Rotating, including Nights & Weekends as clinical research studies require - Position will primarily work four day shifts a week unless night shift required (Advanced notice of change to shift would be given) - Must be able to stay over scheduled shift to manage clinical research study needs, as needed (Advance notice would be given) - Must have 5 years or more of med/surg or higher experience - Must be able to float to other units to support clinical research, as needed Preferred: -Clinical research experience -Candidate that is a Certified Chemo Provider -Experience working in oncology, including medication administration, within the last 6 months The Clinical Nurse II job demonstrates a mastery of clinical skills and begins to apply this knowledge to a specific patient population. This job assists the health care team with the prevention of illness and injury, maintenance of wellness, and provision of comfort. This job recognizes changes in patient situations and intervenes appropriately. This job mobilizes resources to meet the individualized needs of patient/families. This job provides direction, education, and assumes leadership responsibilities at the unit level. This job delivers and accurately documents direct, age-specific care to a patient or group of patients based on medical orders and an integrated, multidisciplinary plan of care. This job safely administers prescribed medications, identifying incompatibilities and/or interactions. The Clinical Nurse III job demonstrates clinical knowledge at the unit level and begins to apply this knowledge to a specific patient population. This job assists the health care team with the prevention of illness and injury, maintenance of wellness, and provision of comfort. This job anticipates changes in patient situations and intervenes appropriately. This job provides direction, education, and serves as a role model in a clinical setting. This job delivers and accurately documents direct, age-specific care to a patient or group of patients based on medical orders and an integrated, multidisciplinary plan of care. This job safely administers prescribed medications, identifying incompatibilities and/or interactions. Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire: This position is for the clinical research unit on North 8. This is a 0.9 FTE rotating position that will cover night shift & weekends shifts based on clinical research needs.
