Jun 21, 2025

The Ranish Group is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate II to conduct research investigating how hematopoietic stem cells differentiate into mature red blood cells. To accomplish this goal, the lab is developing mass spectrometry-based technology to quantify the transcription factor proteome in purified populations of differentiating erythroid cells. The data will be used to model the transcriptional regulatory networks underlying this process. The models will guide future experiments to understand how specific transcription factors drive cell fate decisions.

Key responsibilities include

  • Development and application of mass spectrometry-based proteomics technologies
  • Recombinant protein expression and purification
  • Molecular biology and cell based assays

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in analytical chemistry or biomedical sciences (i.e., molecular/cellular biology or biochemistry)
  • Strong interest in mass spectrometry-based proteomics and gene regulation
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work, work efficiently and independently
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Four (4) or more years of experience of relevant research experience in a lab environment
  • Experience with, or ability to gain proficiency of lab software, equipment and tools required to complete work
