Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Account Manager, Delegate Sales to lead our delegate acquisition strategy for the Game Developers Conference (GDC). In this pivotal role, you will drive attendance revenue, develop strategic relationships with gaming communities, and collaborate closely with internal teams to enhance the experience for attendees. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the future growth of our Gaming market team within our Informa Festivals division.

GDC is the leading gaming industry event in the Americas - attracting game developers, publishers, studios, business leaders, and investors who are all part of the mission to create successful games.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will develop and implement GDC attendance strategies to achieve delegate pass sales and revenue targets for the GDC event
  • You will collaborate with the marketing team to re-engage past GDC attendees and warm leads through outbound calls, targeted emails, personalized messages, and social media engagement - supporting conversion at all stages of the funnel.
  • You will identify and target key audience segments within the gaming community, including developers, publishers, investors and business leaders
  • You will maximize revenue by identifying potential high-quality event delegate targets, developing compelling delegate packages, and utilizing a consultative sales approach to attract groups of attendees from key organizations
  • You will support GDC marketing efforts by providing insights on key attendee demographics and messaging that resonates with the gaming community
  • You will participate in post-event analysis to provide insights on attendee behavior, event experience satisfaction, and areas for improvement to inform future GDC strategies
  • You will leverage GDC's audience personas and segmentation data to tailor outreach and messaging, ensuring relevance and resonance with diverse attendee types.
  • You will use Salesforce and marketing dashboards to track outreach performance, report lead status, and share audience insights that inform messaging, creative testing, and campaign strategy.
  • You will work closely with GDC content, operations, and marketing teams to align attendance acquisition strategies with the event objectives
  • You will collaborate with the sponsorship and brand partnerships sales team to identify cross-promotional opportunities and to leverage GDC content and experiences to enhance sales efforts, and to provide value for strategic sponsors
  • You will guide prospective attendees through the value of GDC's various pass types, identifying upsell opportunities and matching attendees with the best experience for their goals.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Revenue Growth: Achieve or exceed delegate revenue targets
  • Delegate Attendance: Meet target attendance goals for all GDC programs and experiences
  • Attendee Satisfaction: Achieve high satisfaction scores among delegates
  • Community Engagement: Develop and maintain ongoing engagement with the gaming community
  • Market Penetration: Successfully expand GDC's reach and acquire new gaming audience segments
Qualifications
  • Ideally you will have a Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Technology related disciplines, Game Development, or Festival/Event Management
  • Ideally 5+ years of experience in audience/delegate ticket sales, event attendance marketing, or gaming community engagement
  • Proven track record in meeting festival revenue targets and driving attendance growth
  • Proven analytical and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced festival environment
  • Proven experience of having a fan-centric mindset and an ability to build relationships with gaming industry professionals and communities
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional festival teams to achieve shared objectives and deliver exceptional gaming festival experiences

The pay range for this position is $80,000 - $90,000, depending on experience
