Summary: The Senior Director, Marketing - ZILRETTA Brand Leadership will own the strategic direction, positioning, and customer engagement strategy for the ZILRETTA brand. This leader will play a critical role in ensuring integrated, insight-driven marketing that connects with both healthcare professionals (HCPs) and patients across touchpoints. The role requires a data-savvy, visionary marketer who can orchestrate personalized, scalable campaigns across personal and nonpersonal channels to drive commercial success in the highly competitive osteoarthritis category.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: * Brand Strategy: Lead and shape the current brand plan, long-term brand strategy and customer engagement plan for ZILRETTA, ensuring a cohesive customer experience across HCP, patient, and payer audiences. Understand the competitive market environment and work collaboratively to develop our long-term, sustainable brand value proposition. Develop integrated campaigns that leverage digital, in-person, and remote channels to maximize reach and impact. * Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with field sales, omnichannel, market access, medical affairs, commercial operations, and analytics teams to develop and align executional plans. Foster cross-functional partnerships to ensure agility and consistent brand delivery. * HCP Marketing: Design and implement a robust HCP strategy that leverages digital targeting, CRM, programmatic media, and nonpersonal touchpoints. Align HCP activities with field force priorities and content strategy to optimize engagement and relevance. * Direct-to-Patient (DTP) Marketing: Drive the development and deployment of DTP initiatives aimed at increasing awareness and action among patients suffering from osteoarthritis knee pain. Use data and insights to deliver compliant and compelling messaging across paid, owned, and earned media channels. * Digital & Omnichannel Execution: Partner with the Omnichannel function to oversee the design and execution of omnichannel campaigns, including HCP and patient journeys, email marketing, websites, social media, digital media buying, and content syndication. Integrate measurement and optimization to inform channel strategy and improve ROI. * Customer & Market Insights: Leverage real-world evidence, market research, and digital analytics to understand customer behavior, optimize segmentation, and inform personalization strategies. Use insights to adapt campaigns in real time and support informed brand decision-making. * Brand Communication & Stewardship: Ensure a strong, consistent ZILRETTA brand voice across all customer touchpoints. In coordination with key stakeholders, guide the development of promotional materials, educational resources, and digital assets to reinforce brand positioning and support both personal and nonpersonal promotion. * Thought Leader & Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strategic relationships with KOLs, advocacy groups, and other external stakeholders. Serve as a brand ambassador at key conferences, advisory boards, and industry events. * Budget & Resource Management: Manage budgets and resource allocation across digital and traditional channels, ensuring efficient use of funds while maintaining agility to invest in high-impact tactics. * Team Development & Leadership: Lead and mentor a high-performing marketing team, with a focus on digital fluency, data-driven thinking, and collaboration. Cultivate a culture of curiosity, accountability, and innovation. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position will have supervisory responsibilities. Interaction: Will collaborate closely with employees in all other functional areas and directly with the commercial team, including regular engagement with the field sales and training teams.
Qualifications
Education and Experience: * Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, life sciences, or related field required. MBA or advanced degree preferred. * 10-15 years of progressive marketing experience, ideally within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare industry * Proven track record of launching and commercializing pharmaceutical products, including pre-launch planning and lifecycle management. * Strong experience in: o Brand strategy development o HCP and/or DTC marketing o Market shaping and segmentation. o Customer insights and analytics o Payer marketing and value proposition development * Experience leading cross-functional teams (e.g., Sales, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Regulatory) * Demonstrated success working with senior leadership and influencing key internal and external stakeholders. * Familiarity with FDA regulations, compliance, and legal review processes related to pharmaceutical promotion. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Omnichannel Expertise: Proven experience in orchestrating multichannel campaigns, managing marketing technology platforms (e.g., CRM, MAP, analytics), and driving engagement across HCP and patient audiences. * Strategic Vision: Strong ability to develop forward-thinking brand and channel strategies that align with evolving customer expectations and behaviors. * Analytical Acumen: Skilled in interpreting data from digital platforms, A/B tests, and campaign analytics to optimize engagement and conversion. * Communication & Leadership: Strong communication skills and ability to influence internal stakeholders, agency partners, and executive leadership. Demonstrated success in team leadership and talent development. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with eh ability to craft compelling brand narratives and presentations for internal and external audiences. * Demonstrated experience engaging with KOLs and stakeholder to support brand objectives. Pay Transparency
The base pay range for this role is $224,000 per year to $308,000 per year. The range is what we reasonably expect to pay for this role. The range considers a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: geographic markets, business or organizational needs, skill sets, experience, training, licensure, and certifications
