GLOBAL SENIOR MANAGER, VAVE
IMPACT and OPPORTUNITY Deliver material savings through VAVE across business units on current business to improve profitability and instill lowest cost design standards into new product development. Drive competitiveness through cost performance on the largest cost model element, material.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and track design material costs for assigned products and programs, supporting overall cost reduction and margin improvement goals.
- Coordinate the development and execution of annual VAVE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering) targets in collaboration with Engineering and cross-functional partners.
- Support the identification and implementation of design-based cost savings initiatives; gather data, quantify savings, and ensure proper documentation of results.
- Work closely with Design Engineering to develop and implement cost-effective design changes and monitor their impact on program profitability.
- Partner with Sales to help manage the customer communication process related to design savings, ensuring alignment with commercial objectives.
- Collaborate with Sourcing, Operations, and Manufacturing teams to provide engineering support for material cost savings tied to supplier negotiations, freight, scrap, and process improvements.
- Maintain and help enforce standardized Bill of Design (BOD) and Bill of Material (BOM) practices, based on preferred components and materials that meet cost and performance targets.
- Monitor compliance to BOD/BOM standards and support the development of reporting tools and dashboards to track adherence and highlight gaps.
- Participate in competitive product teardowns and benchmarking workshops to generate cost-saving ideas and assess market trends.
- Assist in evaluating designs for cost effectiveness and support design updates that align with value engineering principles.
- Ensure BOM accuracy for assigned programs and validate cost inputs used in financial models and business cases.
- Contribute to innovation projects by identifying and documenting low-cost design ideas that support early-stage development.
- Promote use of modular or platform-based designs to support cost reduction and scalability across multiple programs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Design, Supply Chain, or a related technical field
- Min. 15 years of experience with VAVE, cost reduction initiatives, or product value optimization
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and cost drivers
- Proficiency with engineering drawings, BOMs, and cost analysis tools
- Strong analytical skills
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally; ideally with Engineering, Sourcing, Operations, and Sales
- Project management experience; able to manage multiple initiatives with deadlines and measurable outcomes
