Job Summary Responsibilities

Responsible for managing the Purchasing functions along with SAP function for the Materials Management (MM) modules. This includes the proper operation, analysis and interpretation within an SAP ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) environment, setting policy on inventory levels, determining relative levels of raw material, work-in-process. Manages the outlay of financial resources for the purchase of all raw materials and supplies and the efficient transportation of intra-company goods associated with the plant.

Salary Range: $90,816 - $126,991

Position is eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan with a target of 10% of the base salary.
Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to experience level, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities
  • Establishes effective materials management procedures for the plant. Establishes goals and objectives for improved performance of each reporting function. Responsible for compliance with cGMP within each responsibility center of each materials function.
  • Manages all aspects of SAP, relating to the MM (Materials Management) modules at the facility level and acts as a SAP SME (Subject Matter Expert) resource.
  • Develops, establishes, and provides for the maintenance of reporting systems that relate to the materials functions.
  • Ensures that the Company standard practices and procedures are followed in connection with all Materials Department functions.
  • Responsible for the motivation and development of subordinates to optimize their performance and their personal and professional growth. Provides an organization which will accomplish the above responsibilities and meets company objectives. Develops staff through orientation, training, establishing goals and objectives and standards of performance. Provides a working environment which is safe, motivational, consistent, and conducive to creativity. Provides appropriate recognition of contribution and performance.
  • Manages the activities of the purchasing area to include: searching and presenting alternate and lower cost suppliers for major purchased items, maintaining an effective rapport with all suppliers for the purpose of negotiating, expediting, and disposing of non-acceptable goods.
  • Responsible for continuing programs of exploration for new materials, suppliers and processes to achieve the best possible quality, reliability, prices, continuity, and delivery.
  • Responsible for the proper implementation of all raw materials, programs and initiating and disposition of the resulting material obsolescence.
  • Reviews operating methodology and coordinates necessary improvements by automation/computerization for improving data collection and reports and ensures such reports indicate the status of all materials activities.
  • Established and maintains purchasing practices and policies to ensure honest, fair and ethical relationships with our vendors. Keeps informed on legal matters, which affect purchasing policies and Sarbanes Oxley requirements.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Finance or a related field or Associates degree with related experience. MBA desirable.
  • 5 years previous related experience required.
  • Minimum 1 year of previous supervisory or management experience required.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of SAP ERP, and more specifically, the MM and WM SAP modules. Prefer implementation experience.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of purchasing, production planning, inventory control, and distribution techniques and theory.
  • Prefer a background in the pharmaceutical industry, or experience in a regulated environment.
