The manager will keep the Associate Vice President of Administrative Services informed of employee concerns and oversee the implementation of employee relations programs. Essential Functions 50% - Provides strategic oversight of the college's ER program. This includes ensuring alignment with institutional goals and compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, such as FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and EEOC regulations. 30% - Collaborates closely with the Associate Vice President of Administrative Services to ensure effective communication and oversight of employee relations matters. Supports both responsive and proactive strategies to promote employee engagement, accountability, and a positive workplace culture. Reviews and interprets employee relations data to identify trends and organizational risks, recommending strategic interventions such as training, policy revisions, and process improvements. Contributes to college-wide planning by developing and aligning employee relations goals with institutional priorities. Directly supervises one support staff member, providing clear direction, performance feedback, training, and opportunities for professional growth. 20% - Provides support for new hire orientation and participates in college-wide meetings, team events, and other institutional functions to enhance the visibility and integration of employee relations efforts. Coordinates with the support staff member to ensure the logistical and administrative needs of employee relations programs and events are met efficiently and professionally. Assists in aligning these activities with broader college initiatives to reinforce a cohesive and supportive work environment. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution and five (5) years of work experience in human resources which includes at least two (2) years of experience in a lead or supervisory role. Note: A bachelor's degree in any discipline from a regionally accredited institution and a current human resources certification from SHRM, or a similar certifying organization, or an undergraduate or graduate certificate in a human resources discipline from a regionally accredited institution, may substitute for the bachelor's degree in a related discipline as indicated above. Desired Qualifications A. Three (3) or more years of experience in interpreting and applying employment laws and policies in complex workplace situations involving ADA, FMLA, Title VII, and other regulatory frameworks, with a focus on balancing compliance and organizational goals. Experience navigating nuanced employee relations scenarios involving ADA, FMLA, Title VII, and other regulatory frameworks, with a focus on balancing compliance and organizational goals. B. Three (3) or more years of experience in analyzing and reporting HR/ER metrics to inform strategic decisions using HRIS systems and data tools to track employee relations cases, identify trends, and prepare reports that support continuous improvement and risk mitigation efforts. C. Three (3) or more years of experience facilitating high-stakes employee conversations and restorative practices such as conflict resolution, accommodation needs, or disciplinary actions-while maintaining fairness, documentation integrity, and trust across all parties involved. D. Three (3) or more years of experience in developing and delivering comprehensive training and professional learning on key topics such as performance management, conflict resolution, policy compliance, and workplace expectations. E. Three (3) or more years of experience collaborating across departments and with senior leadership to implement employee relations strategies and align programs with institutional priorities.
