*Must live in Chicagoland and go onsite 1x/week!* *Contract Position, hourly W2 $70-75/hr * The contract will be written through the end of 2025, with the option and high likelihood to be extended into 2026. *Top Skill Details* * 8+ years' enterprise Project Management experience in a formal PMO * Must have experience managing highly complex, visible, multi-million dollar technology projects. Should have experience working with legacy technologies and applications. * Excellent project financial and reporting skills - must include tracking actuals, accruals, and capitalization Location: Preferred: Local to Chicagoland. Must have the ability to be onsite 1x per week *Description* Project Managers will be part of the PMO directly supporting Technology and Business teams as drive projects to modernize tech, enhance apps, and complete new integrations. PMs play a key role in managing third party delivery partners, proactively identifying risks, managing project financials, stakeholder communication, and all project status updates, documentation, and enforcement of PMO processes and best practices. Developing detailed project plans, including budget, timeline, and resources. Working with various teams and application owners to manage test strategy, change management, and overall project delivery. Proactively identifying, tracking and remediating project risks. Managing stakeholder communication through status reports and executive summaries. Accurate and timely updates to project financials in PPM tool - includes accruals, actuals, variance reports, capitalization, etc. Essential Duties & Responsibilities * Leads the Project Management functions and activities. * Leads projects with identifying issues and risks and ensuring the issues and risk are resolved in a timely manner. * Provides leadership and mentoring on project management best practices (including scope, time, cost, communications and risk management) for team members. Ensures that the responsibilities, authorities, and accountability of all project staff are defined and understood. * Identifies cross-organizational barriers that impact multiple projects or programs and ensures these barriers are removed. Works with senior management across Information Technology and the business area(s) to accomplish this. * Consults with IT and Business Leaders to review initial investment initiatives to determine goals, time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing a project, estimated staffing requirements, and allotment of resources. Ensures the accuracy and timeliness of project financials. * Leads, directs and has full management accountability for staff in area of responsibility with an emphasis on talent management and succession planning in accordance with corporate strategic direction. * Sets direction for project management practices, processes and procedures. Ensures consistency of project management practices across Projects. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities * In depth technical knowledge of project management practices and processes. * Ability to effectively interact and communicate with all levels of external and/or internal business partners within scope of responsibility, team and/or matrix environment. * Leadership and management skills demonstrating integrity and professionalism. * Ability to drive results by identifying and resolving problems within scope of responsibility. * Knowledge of the insurance industry, its products and services (preferred, not required) * Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software. *Additional Skills & Qualifications* Must have excellent communication skills and ability to be assertive with internal stakeholders and third party vendors. Should possess experience that allows PM to get into the weeds of the project while also understanding impact and big picture within portfolio. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $10.00 - $90.00/hr.
