Position description

Professor Jodi Quas and the Adolescent and Childhood Experiences (ACEs) Lab at the University of California, Irvine, are currently accepting applications for a for an assistant specialist to join their research team. The specialist selected for this position will primarily assist on the "My life and My Experiences Project, which is an NICHD-Funded project on acute stress, rumination, and memory in adolescents in Orange County. Dr. Quas and her team are evaluating how adolescents with diverse life experiences talk about their experiences, and what characteristics predict their recounting abilities.

Dr. Quas and the ACEs Lab are seeking a highly-motivated individual with experience working with adolescent-age youth, including those from high-risk diverse backgrounds, and with experience managing large undergraduate teams, coordinating scheduling, working with schools and community organizations, and managing IRB and related subject payment documents. Preferred experience includes administering cognitive measures to youth.

Note that the final approval for this position is based on the availability of external funding.

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

* BA or equivalent in psychology or education, plus at least one year post-graduate education

* Experience working with child and adolescent populations, including those from vulnerable backgrounds

* Experience managing teams of undergraduate assistants.

* Demonstrated competency creating and managing Qualtrics and similar survey software.

Additional preferred qualifications

* Experience and contact with local community organizations, schools, and agencies that serve vulnerable youth populations

* Experience administering cognitive tests to youth

* Experience with IRBs and subject payments
