Job Description

Assists and learns day-to-day operations in Gas Control. Reviews operator log and real-time gas system activities to verify compliance tasks were completed. Coordinates, supports and organizes with compliance related audit activities.

Responsible for gas safety compliance work and compliance with PSE's Gas Operating Standards and Gas Field Procedures when engaged in operating, maintaining, constructing or engineering PSE's natural gas system. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety.

This position may be subject to random DOT drug and/or alcohol testing.

Demonstrates commitment to conduct business honestly, ethically and consistent with our core values and Code of Conduct. Ensures duties are performed in accordance with all regulatory compliance obligations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Under direct supervision, monitors the SCADA system for abnormal operating conditions to learn how to anticipate system conditions requiring action, and then providing appropriate response to those conditions.
  • Learns and develops knowledge on weather and load forecasting.
  • Administers the Management of Change Process for compliance with control room management requirements.
  • Manages and reviews alarm database for accuracy and proper safety related settings.
  • Administers and assigns interruptible customer load to rate blocks for daily and monthlyreporting.
  • Supports, troubleshoots and advises energy control staff with upgrades to gas SCADA system.
  • Verifies accuracy of gas quality data, quality assurance within SAP, and posts incident reports related to gas quality issues.
  • Once operator qualified, may work staggered schedule to cover real-time gas system. Participates in emergency response activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • Operator Qualified (OQ) gas controller within 2 years.
  • Demonstrated skills with MS Office suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer sciences or related field.
  • Knowledge of gas measurement theory, pressure control, instrumentation, gas metering designs, custody transfer, weather and load forecasting.
  • Familiarity with SAP, SCADA, and other communication systems.

The pay range for this position is$74,000.00-$111,900.00, and this position is eligible for annual goals based incentive bonuses.
