Job Title: Heavy-Duty Truck Sales Representative

Company: I-State Truck Center We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Heavy Duty Diesel Truck Sales Specialist with expertise in Western Star trucks to join our dynamic sales team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for heavy-duty vehicles, exceptional customer service skills, and a proven track record in sales. This role focuses on building strong client relationships, understanding customer needs, and promoting the unique features and benefits of Western Star trucks to drive sales and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities:
- Sales and Customer Engagement:
- Actively engage with prospective and existing customers to identify their needs and recommend appropriate Western Star truck models.
- Conduct product demonstrations, test drives, and presentations to showcase the features, performance, and reliability of Western Star trucks.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, including fleet managers, owner-operators, and businesses in industries such as construction, logging, and transportation.
- Negotiate sales contracts, financing options, and trade-ins to close deals while ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Product Expertise:
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of Western Star truck models, specifications, customization options, and industry applications.
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor products, and advancements in heavy-duty diesel truck technology.
- Educate customers on the benefits of Western Star trucks, including durability, fuel efficiency, and advanced features tailored to their business needs.
- Sales Strategy and Goals:
- Achieve or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets set by the dealership.
- Generate leads through networking, referrals, cold calling, and attending industry events or trade shows.
- Collaborate with the sales team and management to develop strategies for increasing market share and brand visibility for Western Star trucks.
- Administrative and Follow-Up:
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline management using CRM software.
- Coordinate with the service and parts departments to ensure timely delivery and customization of trucks as per customer specifications.
- Provide exceptional post-sale support, including follow-ups to ensure customer satisfaction and foster repeat business.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in heavy-duty truck sales, automotive sales, or a related field; experience with Western Star trucks is highly preferred.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a competitive environment.
- Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of heavy-duty diesel trucks, particularly Western Star models, and their applications in various industries.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with clients.
- Ability to understand and explain technical specifications, financing options, and warranty programs to customers.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with industry-specific software is a plus.
- Education and Certifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
- Valid driver's license required; Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is a plus.
- Personal Attributes:
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-centric approach.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate customer schedules.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to conduct truck walkarounds and test drives, which may involve climbing into and out of heavy-duty trucks.
- Occasional travel to meet clients or attend industry events.
