Job Purpose The Engineer, Electrical Systems will play a pivotal role in supporting the advancement of electrical systems for our generator technology in the R&D division in Cincinnati, Ohio. As part of our dynamic team, the Electrical Engineer will assist in contributing to electrical sub-systems and components for innovative generator technologies. Duties and Responsibilities
- This position will directly shape the company's innovative energy product portfolio by owning the design, build, and test of production level wiring harnesses and electrical sub-system mechanical designs.
- This role is for an engineer who is a do-er that will bring concepts to a reality and driven to work as a team player with minimal supervision, using sound engineering judgment and established practices to develop and refine designs.
- Develop 2D and 3D schematics, models, and manufacturing drawings for electrical sub-systems - including wire harness assemblies and electrical enclosures.
- Be the bridge between the electrical, mechanical and system teams by collaborating to ensure the product meets intended design requirements within the overall product portfolio.
- Mentor engineers and lead technicians in the assembly and testing of electrical assemblies.
- Shepard change in released documentation by following standard engineering change practices.
- Build and integrate both prototype and production level electrical system components.
- Perform analysis and physical testing (both mechanical and electrical) of harnessing and sub-systems according to governing regulations.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical issues related to electrical assemblies.
- Identify and engage with strategic suppliers for critical component design, build and procurement.
- Ensure all electrical system components comply with safety and material regulations for both prototype and commercial applications.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support evolving business needs.

- Education, Experience and Certifications
- Bachelor's in electrical or mechanical engineering.
- 3+ years of demonstrated experience in a product development environment bridging the gap between electrical and mechanical engineering with electrical sub-system design
- Required Skills and Abilities
- Strong understanding of fundamental electrical engineering principles.
- Experienced in designing and building HV and LV wire harnesses/cables and electrical assemblies for low and high-volume electronic systems.
- Experienced in the use of 3D modeling tools such as NX, SolidWorks, Fusion etc.
- Experienced in any harness and electrical packaging layout tools such as EPLAN, Zuken E3, NX Capital, AutoCAD, etc.
- Experienced in applying GD&T to mechanical drawings for manufacturability and clear communication with production vendors
- Familiar with and demonstrated ability to design and troubleshoot electronic systems.
- Familiar with designing high-voltage electrification systems encompassing batteries, motors, inverters, PDUs, and embedded controllers
- Familiar with compliance requirements, and industry standards such as UL, IPC, ISO, and/or NASA as it pertains to design practice and builds of electrical systems

Role Classification and Working Conditions This is a salaried, exempt-level position. This position typically works in an office environment; and given the nature of our business is also exposed to operations/warehouses/production environments. Physical/Other Requirements
