Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. is in search of an expert Sales Account Manager for our manufacturing facilities in the Pittsburgh, PA region supporting Western Pennsylvania, Eastern Ohio, and Northern West Virginia. This is a residence-based position, with the ideal candidate residing in Pittsburgh, PA.

Seeking a professional with a positive demeanor and focus on innovation to lead all facets of the sales process from prospecting, preparing, and communicating proposals to optimally negotiating complex contracts to secure new business and achieve customer retention.

This Sales Account Manager position is responsible for selling our portfolio of liquid and bulk products into a variety of different markets including but not limited to Food/Beverage, Metals Processing, Pharmaceuticals, and Chemicals.

Qualifications:
  • 4-year college degree in business or engineering, or equivalent experience with strong technical proficiency
  • 3-4 years of successfully demonstrated sales experience preferred (Industrial Gas experience a plus)
  • Robust analytical abilities and financial skill
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding Presentation skills
  • Highly motivated with ability to work and prioritize independently
  • Work well in a collaborative dynamic team environment, with a high energy level while navigating through challenging conversations both internally and externally
Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Existing Customer Account Management, Managing Customer Relationships, Customer Value Creation, Wallet Share Growth, and Profit Management
  • New Business Development - Selling portfolio of Products, Equipment and Services to amenable Market, including New to Market and Driven Account Prospects. Strong emphasis on consistent field presence and prospecting (high rate of daily call activity), and expeditious Direct Marketing follow-up
  • Collaborate and interact with Product Manager and the broader customer facing organization such as Commercial Technology Reps., Customer Engineering, Microbulk Sales Reps, GenGas Business Development Managers., etc.
  • Adept at working in a matrixed organization and to collaborate with other sales and marketing professionals within the North Subregion and Air Products' broader organization
  • Success in this position requires someone who has excellent time management, organization skills
  • Overnight travel is expected for territory coverage, trade shows, and broader team meeting
Minimum Hiring Requirements:
  • Experience with Quality related work processes, management systems, and specifications in a manufacturing environment.
  • Applied knowledge and understanding of statutory/regulatory inspection requirements required.
  • Strong sense of ownership and ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with business partners to drive actions and improvement.
  • Applied problem solving, root cause analysis, and methodology required.
  • Continuous improvement and groundbreaking mindset and maintenance of quality systems supporting a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience and understanding of document management systems and management of change systems.
  • ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 Certified Internal Auditor Certification desired.
  • Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB) desired.
  • SAP experience desired.
