Join us as our new Construction Manager!

In this role, you will be accountable for the overall construction performance of assigned projects and is responsible for the managing, directing and reporting of all activities on a job site as it relates to industrial construction, from excavation through project closing. The Construction Manager should provide leadership, ensuring that construction schedules, safety, quality standards, customer satisfaction, trade partner effectiveness and maximum profitability are maintained throughout the construction process for multiple projects at one time.

In this role you'll make an impact by:

Scheduling:

  • Create and manage a site wide Project Construction schedule and report job progress routinely to the Project Execution Manager.

  • Interface with all Project Managers and ensure that all project schedules are aligned into the site Project Construction Schedule.

  • Schedule and coordinate activities between multiple contractors ensuring alignment with production needs.

  • Field monitoring of daily progress to ensure adherence to construction schedule

  • Ensuring each project is completed on schedule and all contract obligations are satisfied

  • Coordinate with Project Manager and external design team on all design related issues

  • Communicate and coordinate schedules with all Novozymes team members on a routine basis.

  • Verify that final sign-off and inspections are completed and passed by the appropriate jurisdictional inspectors and officials.

Quality Assurance and Safety

  • Monitor quality assurance processes, ensuring compliance with safety, quality and GMP policies. Ensure Project Manager is notified of any issues and steps taken to resolve.

  • Facilitate weekly contractor safety meetings, as well as any daily hazard analysis that are required/necessary.

  • Maintain records of all changes including purchase orders, change orders and/or work orders Level Basic Function Reports to Supervises Duties and Responsibilities.

  • Maintain a safe work site by implementing good housekeeping regulations and safety requirements, enforcing safe work habits and overseeing OSHA and any state-level agency regulations.

  • Provide site wide notification of any road closures or heavy equipment on site (i.e. cranes) that would impede normal operations.

Trade Partner Management

  • Create productive working relationship with contractor crews and create an environment where quality is paramount, and problems are solved quickly.

  • Monitor cleanliness and hold the trade partners responsible for daily cleanup

  • Find solutions to and resolve issues related to daily construction activities

  • Conduct detailed inspections after each trade has completed its tasks and before any work is authorized for payment

  • Communicate to relevant internal parties when payment for completed works can be processed.

Other Support

  • Ensure contractors are maintaining an as-built copy of redlines for the duration of the project

  • Assist with Statement of Work creation as needed

  • Assist with service bid reviews as needed

  • Constructability / Pre-constructability design reviews as needed

  • Attend weekly internal Project sessions and provide feedback

To succeed you must hold:

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Bachelor's degree in construction or engineering (**preferred)

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in scheduling, ordering, field supervision, quality control, and production of all phases of industrial construction

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

  • Detail orientated team player with strong work ethic and integrity

  • Ability to read design drawings.

  • Understanding of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, architectural, structural and civil construction

  • Basic computer skills in Word, Excel, Outlook and Project

  • OSHA 30 Certified

  • Ability to work at least eight - ten hours per day (workload dependent), as well as weekend work in cases of plant shutdowns.

  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle, climb, bend, stoop, reach, lift move and/or carry equipment which maybe be in excess of 50 pounds.

Expected salary range: $80,000-$95,000
