Multi Asset Solutions (MAS) is a multi-asset class investing group that sits within the Asset Management Division at Goldman Sachs. It designs and develops comprehensive investment management solutions customized to meet the investment objectives and relevant constraints of clients. These solutions bring together state-of-the-art techniques for multi-asset and liability-hedging portfolio design and reflect proprietary research and analytics conducted by the MAS team. With investment professionals across the globe, MAS invests or advises on assets for some of the world's leading corporations, sovereign wealth funds, pension plans, governments, financial institutions, endowments, foundations, and family offices. Responsibilities: The successful candidate would become a member of the Lead Portfolio Management (LPM) Team within Multi-Asset Solutions (MAS), predominantly working with US corporate pension clients. The candidate would be responsible for leading the design, management, and communication of multi-asset class whole-of-wallet portfolios. This role is client-facing and highly analytical, focusing on developing, investing, managing and communicating bespoke strategic asset allocations for clients. Core responsibilities include:
- Advise clients and oversee implementation of strategic and implementation issues, such as asset allocation, investment manager / vehicle selection and oversight, risk / performance management and evaluation, and research on investment management strategies
- Lead day-to-day portfolio management for pensions, including strategic asset allocation analysis, portfolio construction optimization, and custom liability-hedging & asset-liability matching analysis
- In coordination with dedicated client relationship coverage, assist in client management including presenting results and ideas Investment Committee reviews, addressing client investment needs, proposing new strategies aimed at enhancing portfolio characteristics
- Support content development including client and prospect presentation books (including Investment Committee reviews), request for proposals, and other investment-related analyses
Other required skills/experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mathematics, Economics, Finance, or related quantitative field
- 6+ years of relevant experience (relevant experience includes institutional investing, portfolio management, pension risk management, and asset liability management)
- Experience leading client discussions, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience leading and multi-tasking across internal and external projects in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented and meticulous, with strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Intelligent, creative, with good problem-solving abilities
- Strong understanding of portfolio investment metrics and characteristics (including that of multi-asset and liability-hedging portfolios)
- Expert in Excel and PowerPoint, including creating and providing detailed review of bespoke data analysis and presentations
- Actuarial designation a plus
- CFA designation a plus
Salary Range
The expected base salary for this Chicago, Illinois, United States-based position is $100000-$230000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end. Benefits
