Position: Transportation Services Analyst I

Location: Hybrid Remote within service territories

(DE, MD, PA, OH, VA, NC, GA, or FL)

Your role in our success:

Receive and validate Shipper nominations, monitor Shipper scheduled quantities with upstream pipelines, and facilitate capacity release process. Must be extremely reliable and be able to work both autonomously as well as within a team. This role requires the need to provide in depth analysis and reasoning throughout all five (5) scheduling cycles, with the most critical being post cycle. Must possess the ability to utilize analytical skills to make key decisions that will have potentially major impacts on the integrity and operation of the pipeline. Must possess strong communication and organization skills and abilities in order to make and communicate decisions effectively. Review daily imbalance reports. Respond to customer inquiries and notify customers when necessary [Operational Flow Order (OFO), large imbalance, etc.]. Compose demand and commodity invoices on a monthly basis. Reconcile upstream pipeline demand and commodity invoices. Aid in Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and North American Energy Standard's Board (NAESB) compliance, as well as compliance on Chesapeake's Transmission pipeline(s) Electronic Bulletin Boards (EBBs). Perform proper maintenance of all data on EBBs. Perform regulatory research and identify and analyze decisions having major impact on Transmission pipeline(s) or specific departments within the Company. Assist in short- and long-term planning efforts. Stay continually informed about industry trends affecting Transmission pipelines. Support services that complement Chesapeake's existing or new services mix. Above all, maintain superior customer service.

What you'll be working on:



  • Confirm and schedule Shipper nominations in a timely manner
  • Manage Operational Balancing Agreement (OBA) and storage balances with upstream pipelines
  • Facilitate monthly customer billing processes
  • Assist in administering applicable capacity release program
  • Communicate with customers, gas control, and meter/measurement teams
  • Interact with upstream pipelines and suppliers as appropriate
  • Perform special projects as assigned and make recommendations to management


Who you are:



  • Must be able to prepare clear and comprehensive written documents and convey detailed or important information to others.
  • Weekend and after-hours coverage.
  • Considerable communication, administrative, and organizational abilities are required in order to make and communicate decisions effectively that have potentially major impacts on the integrity and operation of the pipeline.
  • A high level of visual acuity is needed to work with numbers.
  • Responsibility of position also requires in depth analysis and reasoning.
  • Must demonstrate understanding of NAESB and FERC regulations and also the ESNG tariff (or other interstate pipeline tariff).
  • Must demonstrate understanding of Public Service Commission (PCS) compliance requirement; including PPC (or other intrastate pipeline) tariff.
  • Must demonstrate understanding of customer needs and operations and demonstrate superior customer service.
  • Must have understanding of analytical procedures and accounting principles.
  • Must understand how to use standard business software (Office products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and a personal computer.
  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent field preferred.
  • Masters Degree preferred but not required.
