Position Summary: The Area Human Resources Manager is responsible for providing generalist human resources support to the strategic planning and implementation of human resources policies and programs including labor relations, compensation and benefits administration, employee relations, personnel development, training, EEO, organizational development, safety and health, recruitment, workers compensation, and employee information services for plant locations in the Corrugated Products Division. This position supports plants in FL, MS and TN. Willingness to live in one of these 3 states, preferably FL, is required. The Area Human Resources Manager is a home based, high travel assignment, responsible for providing generalist support assigned manufacturing facilities located throughout the assigned region. Principle Accountabilities:
- Serves as a liaison between corporate human resources and the plant management / employees within the assigned Area in support of the company's business goals and objectives.
- Provides ongoing communication and education of managers and employees on all human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards, and government regulations.
- Responds to employee relations' issues including employee complaints, harassment allegations, and/or civil rights complaints. Conducts investigations and recommends appropriate resolutions.
- Maintains working relationship with union officials and adheres to the terms of the labor contract by monitoring day-to-day implementation of policies concerning wages, hours and working conditions.
- Represents management in investigating, answering, and settling grievances by arranging and scheduling grievance hearings between union personnel, supervisors, and the management team.
- Assists with presentation of arbitration cases.
- Know and follow policies and procedures of the company, share information that would benefit other members of the team and find ways to improve the delivery of service to our customers.

- Manages 3 or more exempt level HR positions.
Decision Making: The Area Human Resources Manager is a strategic partner with management and is expected to be a solid source or counsel to managers and employees in all areas of Human Resources. The Area Human Resources Manager has access to sensitive and confidential information and is expected to maintain and safeguard this information at all times. Interactions: Internally, the Area Human Resources Manager will interact with associates in all areas of the organization - salaried and hourly. The individual is expected to develop solid working relationships with all associates. Externally, the Area Human Resources Manager may interact with state employment reporting agencies, union representatives, and other company contracted service providers. Position Requirements:
- Education equivalent to a bachelor's degree in human resources, industrial relations or business required. Master's degree in labor, employee relations or business strongly preferred.
- A minimum of (8) eight years previous work experience as a human resource generalist with proven experience handling the following areas: training, safety, workers compensation, grievance/arbitration handling and presentations, conflict resolution, EEO complaint investigation and statement response.
- A minimum of (5) five years previous work experience in a manufacturing facility strongly preferred.
- Previous experience in labor relations, collective bargaining, and arbitration case preparation and grievance process preferred.
- Experience supporting multi-plant or multi-site locations.
- Solid understanding of all current federal and state laws and regulations relating to employment.
- Demonstrable experience delivering classroom training and facilitating leadership education programs.
- Strong working knowledge of PC applications including an understanding of Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with multiple audiences throughout the company on procedures, policies, and requests for information.
- Strong appreciation for the retention and management of confidential information.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple requests simultaneously.
- Strong listening, evaluating, and problem-solving skills. Ability to create alternative solutions and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle numerous details, deadlines, and requests.
- Previous experience working in a team environment preferred, or a strong understanding of the importance of open communication and information sharing among co-workers.
- Must be able to travel extensively and possess a valid U.S. driver's license.
- Ability to reside in the area of responsibility (FL, TN, MS).
- Ability to travel 50-75% without restriction.
