The Opportunity

As the Operational Excellence Lead, you will lead the optimization and process improvement efforts for all aspects of warehouse operations, focusing on efficiency, cost reduction and overall performance at our main US Distribution facility in Louisville, Kentucky. Reporting directly to the Head of Business Excellence, you will own the identification and implementation of process improvements, lead through and coach problem-solving methodologies, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure compliance with relevant standards.

Your role involves partnering with operations management, staff employees and internal/external business stakeholders to ensure a robust and sustainable continuous improvement culture is implemented and operationalized across the warehouse business streams at the Distribution Center.

What You'll Do

Strategic Leadership:

  • Support the implementation of a comprehensive Operational Excellence (OPEX) strategy aligned with the overall business objectives of the medical distribution network.

  • Lead through and coach problem-solving methodologies, ensuring strategic alignment with operational goals.

  • Partner with operational management, staff and internal/external stakeholders to foster a robust and sustainable continuous improvement culture.

Project and Change Management:

  • Lead the site CI Committee in the identification, prioritization, and execution of continuous improvement projects across the distribution operations.

  • Manage project timelines, allocate resources, and track progress to meet objectives.

  • Effectively manage change initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions and minimizing disruption to operations.

  • Focus on change management practices to overcome resistance and engaging stakeholders throughout the change process.

  • Implement change management practices to support ongoing improvement efforts.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards, mitigating disruptions to operations.

Process Improvement and Data Analysis:

  • Utilize Lean Six Sigma methodologies and other best practices to identify and eliminate inefficiencies within warehouse operations.

  • Collaborate with distribution, planning, and warehouse teams to identify and reduce friction within the distribution operations.

  • Implement systematic approaches to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall performance.

  • Analyze data to identify trends, measure performance, and track the impact of improvement initiatives.

  • Use data-driven insights to inform strategic decisions and optimize processes.

  • Develop comprehensive reports to communicate findings and recommendations.

Communication, Collaboration, and Performance Measurement:

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by effectively communicating with stakeholders across the distribution operations..

  • Promote collaboration between departments to ensure alignment and collective goal achievement.

  • Lead discussions and workshops to encourage participation and innovation.

  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and measure the effectiveness of OPEX initiatives.

  • Regularly review and update KPIs to reflect changing priorities and objectives.

  • Report performance data to senior management and recommend corrective actions as needed.

Who You Are

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field. An advanced degree (MBA or Master's) is preferred

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in operational excellence, logistics, or similar roles.

  • 5 years experience in warehouse operations and supply chain management preferred.

  • Proven track record in using Lean Six Sigma methodologies and executing improvement projects.

Technical Knowledge / Skills / Competencies:

  • Expert-level skills in Lean Six Sigma methodologies and continuous improvement tools.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Demonstrated capabilities in strategic planning, team leadership, and change management.

  • Knowledge of supply chain best practices and standards.

Relocation funding is not available for this role.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Louisville, Kentucky is $124,500 - $231,100. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
