WhyUMPhysicians? Under the direction of the Interventional Radiologist/Physician, the technologist prepares patients for procedures, verifies orders and patient history to ensure appropriateness of exam/procedure. Technologist performs diagnostic procedures including complex vascular and nonvascular interventional and therapeutic procedures. The Interventional Radiology Technologist is intimately familiar with sterile procedures including preparation and maintaining a sterile field during procedures,adheres to standard precautions at all times, participates as a vital member of a multi-disciplinary care delivery team consisting of interventional radiologists, physician assistants, nurses, and technologists, and supports ambulatory care services.
