Job Description

This individual will package, kit and/or ship products & materials, receive products & materials, audit materials & processes for quality, ensure inventory integrity, perform a variety of material handling and related data entry activities, and prepare necessary distribution-related documents.

Job Responsibilities

  • Efficiently & safely perform a variety of material handling activities including loading/unloading freight, stacking & moving palletized materials, storing & retrieving materials from vertical storage racks.
  • Package, label, move, and complete required documentation in response to a variety of distribution types of instructions.
  • Perform operations 80 activities: including adding plugs, seals, removing paint over spray, and ensuring all motors are up to Danfoss's quality standards before shipping to Danfoss's customers.
  • Resolve allocation/shortage problems by working effectively with schedulers and others (both Danfoss people and external suppliers), as required.
  • Perform a variety of shipping activities including scheduling of freight carriers and ensuring that all goods and paperwork (including domestic and export documentation) is accurate and complete per customer orders.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to address and resolve shipping-related problems.
  • Receive inbound freight and expedited shipments and MRO/Commodity deliveries, ensure documents are complete and accurate, distribute documents and notify recipients per established procedures, and ensure proper data entry into necessary computerized data base(s).
  • Generate kit orders from customer orders & kanban demand, then build/assemble/package kit orders, pulling parts and prioritizing activities per manual and computerized order requirements.
  • Monitor stock levels against order requirements and take appropriate actions to resolve allocation & shortage problems.
  • Perform audit, inventory location assignments, cycle counting and other audit and control activities to effectively maintain accuracy of required inventories.
  • Perform housekeeping duties on each shift along with provisional standards meeting 5-S requirements.
  • Perform tasks as necessary to meet other ELS requirement, i.e. set-up reduction, CFM, error proofing, etc.
  • Perform procedures necessary to ensure compliance with the Danfoss Safety Process and ensure the personal safety of the incumbent including eye safety, hearing conservation, machine safety guards, ergonomic movement, lock out/tag out, MSDS procedures, and OHSA regulations.
  • Assist in maintaining an atmosphere of continuous improvement and team efforts for accomplishing departmental and plant goals.
  • Meet standards as communicated by supervisor.
  • Perform other related duties and activities as assigned by supervisor.

Background & Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 8 months distribution experience similar to packaging/shipping/receiving
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area of Shawnee, OK will be considered
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorshi


Preferred Qualifications



  • Demonstrated ability to perform self-directed work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Demonstrated basic computer data entry skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact positively with other employees in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to read, understand and effectively apply information contained in all applicable documents.
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends and any shift as needed. Ability to lift 50-75 pounds occasionally and up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis. *

Position Criteria

  • Ability to stand, sit and/or walk on a hard surface as well as safely bend, stoop, reach, climb steps and use ladder up to 8 hours per day, occasionally up to 12 hours per day.
  • Vision to accurately read all related distribution documents and computer monitor screens.
  • Ability to lift 50-75 pounds occasionally and up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
