About the role

As an IAM Architect, you will make an impact by designing and implementing identity and access management solutions to ensure secure, compliant, and efficient access to systems and data across the organization. You will be a valued member of the cybersecurity team and work closely with the operations side.

In this role, you will: Identity Management Design:
  • Develop and maintain the architecture for identity management solutions that align with organizational strategies.
  • Design and implement identity governance and administration frameworks.
Business Identity Solutions:
  • Coordinate and enhance business identity solutions to ensure secure and efficient identity lifecycle management.
  • Collaborate with business units to understand their identity needs and integrate solutions accordingly.
Privileged Identity Management:
  • Implement and manage privileged identity systems to protect critical assets.
  • Ensure the secure handling of privileged credentials and manage access controls.
Customer Identity Management:
  • Configure and administer Customer Identity solutions to support authentication and single sign-on processes.
  • Monitor and resolve issues related to customer Identity products to ensure seamless operations.
Security and Compliance:
  • Ensure identity management solutions follow relevant security standards and regulations.
  • Participate in security incidents that involve identity data when required.
Collaboration and Leadership:
  • Work closely with IT, security, and business teams to ensure alignment of identity solutions with organizational goals.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
Innovation and Improvement:
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in identity management technologies.
  • Propose and implement innovative solutions to enhance identity management practices.
Work model:

Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 2-3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Indianapolis, IN. What you need to have to be considered
  • Strong knowledge of identity governance, access management, and privileged access systems.
  • In depth knowledge of information security practices related to PCI, SOX, HIPAA/HITECH, and OWASP application security.
  • Solid understanding of information security standards and frameworks (NIST, ISO27001, etc.)
  • Experience implementing security at the application, network and operating system levels
  • Experience with mainstream IT Technologies, such as products from Oracle, IBM, and Microsoft.
  • Demonstrated understanding of segregation of duties (SoD) and role based access control (RBAC) concepts
  • Collaborate with Business Units and other IT staff.
  • Interact with business partners and security and compliance staff.
  • Ability to make presentations to senior leadership, potentially C Level.
  • Translate technical "speak" into understandable business language.
  • Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience as a Security Architect
These will help you stand out
  • Possess at least one security related certification (such as: Security+, GCIA, GCIH, GCFA, CCSP, CISSP, etc.)
  • Extensive experience with identity management systems, particularly Sailpoint Identity NOW.

Salary and Other Compensation:

Applications will be accepted until June 29, 2025.

The annual salary for this position is between $ 120,000 - $ 133,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
