This is a/an 83% full-time equivalency (FTE) job with months off. The number of months off will be determined by the position's FTE percentage. The timing of months off will be set to meet the needs of the unit and the essential duties of the position. POSITION SPECIFICS University Health Services (UHS)is seeking aLicensed Practical Nurse (LPN)to join their team. Responsible to the Nurse Leader for providing quality nursing care in Clinical Services. The Licensed Practical Nurse partners with members of the healthcare team to provide patient care. This position provides intake services, prescribes and administers medication, assists clinicians with treatments, completes procedures as ordered, and enters information into the electronic health record. Primary duties include: Screen patient vitals and document collected information in the electronic health record Evaluate patient's overall well-being, report findings and areas of concern to medical staff Assist clinicians with various examinations and procedures and set up instruments and supplies as needed Provide patient education about issues such as current symptoms, preventative health practices, medication usage, medical procedures/tests, etc. Change dressings and bandages; ensure patients are healing properly Monitor and maintain departmental and medication supply needs; re-order supplies when needed Assist nursing and medical staff with various tasks, such as administering medications or performing/ordering tests Explain various treatments and procedures to patients and their families May mentor clinic interns working on the clinical floor; submit written evaluations of student performance MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or High School (HS) 2+ years of relevant experience Required Certifications: Licensed Practical Nurse - Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing Diploma in Practical Nursing (PN) - Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing accredited organization BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. SALARY & BENEFITS The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $46,400.00 - $67,300.00.
