Recruitment: The State Highway Administration's (SHA) District 3 - Prince George and Montgomery Counties is currently recruiting for a Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technician Apprentice (HEMT) position. This is an Interview and Hire position that is open to anyone who meets the minimum qualifications listed below.
This announcement may also be used for future SHA vacancies throughout the state of Maryland.

Nature of Work: To perform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment and to assist in performing major repairs and overhauls on vehicles and heavy equipment. This includes diesel powered, electronic computerized, and fuel injected equipment.

Special Requirements:
- This position is considered essential and is expected to be available to work 24hours/day 7 days/week for inclement weather and/or other emergency events.
- This position is required to respond to emergency situations.
- Must be reachable and respond to calls after work hours.
- Possession of a CDL-Class B valid in the State of Maryland with less than four (4) points.
