The opportunity:

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven eCommerce Procurement Manager to lead the sourcing, negotiation, and management of courier service providers across the United States. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability, cost-effectiveness, and scalability of last-mile and regional delivery operations to support our growing eCommerce business.

The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in purchasing delivery and transportation services from local, regional, and national couriers, including USPS, with a strong understanding of service-level agreements (SLAs), cost structures, and logistics performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Courier Sourcing & Contracting:
    Identify, evaluate, and negotiate agreements with courier service providers, including local, regional carriers, and USPS, to meet business needs across diverse geographies.

  • Vendor Performance Management:
    Develop and implement KPIs to monitor delivery performance, reliability, and service quality. Conduct regular business reviews and implement corrective actions when needed.

  • Cost Optimization:
    Analyze shipping spend data to identify opportunities for savings and service improvements. Lead RFPs and rate negotiations to ensure competitive pricing.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    Work closely with eCommerce, operations, customer service, and warehouse teams to align delivery capabilities with customer expectations.

  • Contract Compliance & Risk Mitigation:
    Ensure all courier contracts are compliant with company policies, industry standards, and legal requirements. Proactively identify and mitigate supplier risks.

  • Market Intelligence & Benchmarking:
    Stay updated on industry trends, rate changes, and innovations in last-mile delivery. Benchmark against competitors and recommend improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or related field (MBA preferred).

  • 5+ years of experience in procurement or logistics, with a focus on buying courier services in the U.S.

  • Strong experience managing vendors such as local couriers, regional carriers, and USPS.

  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, etc.).

  • Familiarity with eCommerce fulfillment models and customer delivery expectations.

  • Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of USPS shipping models (First Class, Priority Mail, Parcel Select, etc.).

  • Experience managing courier spend across multiple states and metro areas.

  • Lean or Six Sigma certification is a plus.

Pay Range: $90,000-$110,000*

*The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
