Summary:
The Apprentice - Education Technician role provides a mix of classroom and clinical training. Apprentices will function in a training capacity working alongside a mentor while completing job responsibilities. This role will assist teachers in providing services that support skill acquisition and behavior reduction goals of students in accordance with the Individual Treatment Plan, IEP and/or behavior support plan.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. Accepted and enrolled into the Southern Maine Community College Education Technician Apprenticeship Program. Must maintain a grade of C or better for all courses while in the Apprentice Program.
  2. License/Certifications: N/A
  3. Experience: N/A
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: DOE and DHHS fingerprinting required.
  5. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: N/A
