Position Summary We are looking for an Accounting Sr. Manager to supervise, track and evaluate day-to-day activities. The Accounting Manager will prepare and review the Company's consolidated and subsidiary financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS. They will be responsible for monitoring the status and completion of all tasks, ensuring timely completion in accordance with established deadlines, and interfacing with Finance leadership and other internal and external parties.

This position directly reports to the Director of Enterprise Accounting. The Accounting Sr. Manager will manage 3 Accounting staff and interface with the Airbus Corporate Accounting teams. Position located in Florida, Merritt Island.

Responsibilities



  • Managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department including month and end-year process, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, treasury, payroll and fixed asset activity.
  • Monitoring and analyzing accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
  • Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions
  • Enforcing proper accounting methods, policies and principles.
  • Coordinate with controllership and other group members for preparation of monthly closing reporting and supporting schedules
  • Coordinate and complete annual audits
  • Prepare and review the consolidated financial statements and related footnotes for inclusion in the annually audited financial statements, ensuring compliance with all reporting and disclosure requirements under GAAP/IFRS
  • Prepare and review subsidiary financial statements for various reporting obligations, ensuring compliance with all reporting and disclosure requirements
  • Implement new revenue recognition from contracts with customers and lease accounting standards under GAAP/IFRS
  • Oversee the payroll accountant and review reconciliation of payroll register to GL on a monthly basis
  • Prepare written accounting memos documenting such issues and transactions for review by senior management and external auditors. Develop strong relationships with internal audit firm
  • Manage monthly reporting to Parent Company and Airbus Group, prepare reconciliations and flux analysis.
  • Coordinate compliance and alignment of Company's accounting policies with those of Parent group accounting policies
  • Establish and manage financial accounting and reporting policies including communication and adherence to such policies outside accounting team
  • Manage the maintenance and update of accounting internal control policies and procedures and provide supporting documentation to internal audit regarding completion of control procedures
  • Responsible for the support company shareholders in the preparation of the Tax provision calculation. You will support the preparation of the year-end tax packages for submission to the Global tax group, and complete monthly Tax balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Review and manage the completion of required government filings as necessary
  • Perform special projects as needed
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Education:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting


Certification(s):



  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and or (ACCA) strongly preferred


Experience:



  • A minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience
  • A minimum of three (3) years of Public Accounting experience or a minimum of five (5) years of Financial Reporting experience
  • Experience managing a team of 2 or more.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience working with general ledger systems and reporting packages, specifically SAP and Costpoint
  • In-depth experience with revenue recognition, and consolidation
  • Working knowledge and experience with and developing general ledger system and financial statements including Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Statement of Equity, and Statement of Cash Flows
  • Working knowledge of revenue recognition under GAAP/IFRS 15 and development/analysis of Estimates at Complete (EAC)
  • Experience managing financial statement audits.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing is a plus.


Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:



  • Understanding of general accounting policies and procedures at a transaction level
  • Attention to detail to prepare and review financial statements and proper filings and disclosures
  • Proficient in Microsoft software applications, specifically Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Ability to disaggregate, analyze and reconcile consolidated financial data in an accurate and timely manner
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely express ideas both verbally and in writing, this will include communication of accounting policies and procedures to corporate team members
  • Absolute discretion and confidentiality regarding sensitive information
  • Ability to take initiative to identify, prioritize and implement all elements required for the team to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with core strategic goals
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including ability to effectively address any issue in collaboration with others as appropriate; ability to proactively identify and prevent potential problems
  • Ability to work well under pressure and effectively handle multiple, concurrent demands and appropriately prioritize responsibilities
  • Ability to coordinate between various corporate offices

  • Lifting: able to lift documents and/or electronic equipment up to 20lbs/9kg.
  • Pushing/Pulling: able to push/pull items in office areas.
  • Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time at computer and in meetings.
  • Squatting/Kneeling: able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves.
  • Standing: able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice.
  • Walking: able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.
