Position Summary:

The Sr Swiss Machinist position is primarily responsible to meet production and quality goals and objectives. Provide complete, timely, and informative communication between other shifts. Ensure that Production Control schedule is followed and contribute to all teams reaching monthly sales and quality goals. Must understand the job requirements of the team manager and be able to maintain the department in their absence.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Accurately completes all department paperwork including job travelers, Inspection documentation,

    work packet information, and tooling request forms.
  • Excellent working knowledge of blueprints and geometric tolerance to run quality parts.
  • Ability to program using PartMaker, & Gibbs Cam
  • Has the ability to set up and run all jobs and machines within the Swiss department.
  • Strives to increase production and streamline set-ups for optimum efficiencies and quality.
  • Troubleshoots quality problems by effectively utilizing process control and corrective actions.
  • May spend up to 70% of time on a machine and 30% in Lead platform when required.
  • Provides leadership to the teams on all shifts when needed and interrelates well with all areas of the Company.
  • Effectively resolves all problems that arise or seeks assistance in a timely manner.
  • Understands company policies and procedures and ensures the team follows them.
  • Assists in maintaining schedules of machines to best meet customer requirements.
  • Demonstrates responsibility for company efficiency, quality, pre-production planning, process control, corrective actions, cleanliness, and safety, and continually strives for process improvements.
  • Continually mentors co-workers to encourage individual growth within company.
  • Complies with company, quality, and safety standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Must Have:



  • 5 years' practical experience preferred of being a senior member on the team providing mentorship and guidance to other team members
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 5-7 years' experience with set ups and troubleshooting for Swiss CNC machines.
  • Mechanical medical machining background preferred.
  • Team membership and leader training preferred.
  • Comprehensive background of ISO requirements.
  • Must have extensive knowledge of all phases of machining and equipment.
  • Must demonstrate good decision making and problem solving.
  • Must have strong communication skills and work well with people.
  • Strong blueprint reading skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English.
