Broadwind Energy has openings in our Abilene plant for multiple roles to include Sub-Arc Welding. This is a direct hire position for quality sub-arc welders on our 2nd Shift, 6 p.m. to 3 a.m. Monday through Friday. This shift pays an additional $2.00/hr on top of base compensation. In this job you would be responsible for operating the sub arc machine to weld cans per the sub arc work instructions to ensure production needs are met.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS(May include some or all of the following responsibilities)
*Must have been previously qualified as a Sub Arc level I
*Weld vertical flux core
*Understand product flow and timing of product placement
*Ability to independently operate sub arc equipment.
*Able to mentor and train other associates in all applicable areas
*Manipulate power and fit-up trunnions
*Knowledge of weld procedure sheet
*Other duties as assigned

Do you have what it takes? Here are the official qualifications...
*High school diploma or GED required.
*1 year of welding experience or, completion of a welder's training program or equivalent combination of education and experience.
*Specific experience with sub-arc welding
*Able to meet the physical demands of this welding work - stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, walking and standing.
*We complete drug screening prior to hire and also conduct periodic random drug tests.
*We have expectations around attendance, tardiness and quality of work
