Overview |
The Rutgers Division of Intercollegiate Athletics sponsors 24 intercollegiate sports, comprised of 14 women's and 10 men's programs, that compete at the Division I level. The Scarlet Knights are members of the prestigious Big Ten Conference, the nation's premier academic and athletic conference, after officially joining the league on July 1, 2014. Known as "The Birthplace of College Football, Rutgers hosted Princeton on Nov. 6, 1869 in the first intercollegiate football game, with RU earning a 6-4 victory.
The Scarlet Knights For Life program assists all (more than 700) Rutgers student-athletes from 24
NCAA Division I intercollegiate sports in achieving success during and after college through opportunities for career development, community engagement, and personal enrichment. The Scarlet Knights for Life program provides career, leadership, and personal development customized around interest, class year, and future goals; prioritizes community service and civic engagement initiatives; promotes unity across all sports and collective peer leadership through the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (
SAAC); and engages alumni (including Letterwinners) with current student-athletes through mentorship, programs, and events. This position allows for the incumbent to be exposed to a wide variety of internal and external athletic functions, while building skills and a portfolio in all areas to support their continuation of a career in college athletics. |

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Big Ten Intern for Athletics Events - Operations.
Among key job duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Assists with maintaining accurate and current records of letterwinners and student-athletes in tracking databases to help with outreach, event planning, and engagement activities.
- Helps student-athletes use the Teamworks engagement platform by providing basic guidance and support.
- Asists with posting and promoting events through the system.
- Assists with various projects and events by helping with outreach to letterwinners through email, phone, and in-person interactions at events, and by supporting coordination with community partners for service-related programs.
- Helps gather and summarize information on generational learning preferences, workshop styles, and communication habits to support the team in designing student-athlete programming.
- Supports the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) by attending meetings, preparing basic meeting materials, and helping with follow-up tasks both in person and online.

The final salary offer may be determined by several factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate's qualifications, experience, and expertise, and availability of department or grant funds to support the position.
