Job Description

Lead Maintenance and Compliance Supervisor Summary

Responsible for organizing the day-to-day direction of Maintenance turn supervisors and for the development of the Maintenance department training program. This individual will develop relationships with internal and external partners to maximize the efficiency of maintenance efforts and the companies' training offerings. In addition, this individual will also serve as the department training & compliance coordinator, working closely with EHS to ensure department adherence.

Essential Functions

Coordinate and give direction to turn supervisors on both day to day and long-term efforts

Work with planners to establish daily and weekly priorities of planned work by the maintenance department

Review and approve appropriate time and attendance records

Coach and mentor supervisors and planners ,especially with business processes in SAP

Responsible for developing and implementing standard operating procedures, training, and skill development for hourly maintenance personnel.

Experience in coordinating and delivering internal and external training to ensure individuals are progressing within their positions.

Develop and manage department training matrix.

Act as a mentor by managing the "helper" program, conducting weekly checks and spot training. Provide feedback as individuals progress into RFT positions.

Actively coordinate apprenticeship program with local community colleges to maximize employee's knowledge and growth. Act as first point of contract for apprentices, providing weekly check ins to monitor progress.

Utilize vendors and contractors to provide ongoing training to RFT employees.

Identify and resolve data/information gaps to meet business goals.

Responsible for developing, documenting, and improving preventive maintenance programs to support the improvement of equipment availability and throughput.

Provide technical support and troubleshooting for equipment failures and loss of production. Assist maintenance and provide technical guidance required to return equipment to operation to minimize downtime and lost production. Provide "on call" support.

Coordinate outside contractor work activities with maintenance personnel or production personnel as required to minimize impacts to cost and production.

Coordinate, maintain and develop with EHS department the required compliance training sessions, employee sign offs, and other EHS initiatives.

Direct supervision of internal plant service groups.

Fill in for the Supervisors as required.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities

Experience preferred in an industrial plant setting

Requisition and purchase equipment and services

Work with maintenance supervisors and department managers to determine priorities and establish schedules.

Work with maintenance craftsmen and operations to resolve equipment failures.

Participate in RCA methodology and implement correctives with the hourly workforce.

Must be willing to work overtime to ensure that projects are implemented on a timely basis.

Qualifications

Competencies

Ability to provide leadership

Expertise, knowledge and training in engineering and maintenance.

Extensive knowledge and training in product manufacturing.

General knowledge of manufacturing processes involved in manufacturing of forged or flat rolled metal products.

Excellent interpersonal skills

General traits such as action oriented, conflict manager, decision maker, comprehensive listener, time manager and positive attitude.

Fulfill the roles of facilitator, coach, mentor, counselor and communicator.

Computer skills and the ability to advance those skills as required

Education and Experience

5+ years of maintenance supervisory experience in a heavy industrial setting.

Demonstrated history of developing and implementing training programs

Associates Degree or Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred
