Location: Washington Court House, OH
Compensation: $90,000-$100,000 + 2-3% Annual Bonus
About the Role
Vaco is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead procurement operations. The incoming manager will play a key role in cost control, vendor performance, and strategic sourcing. Top 3 Candidate Priorities
  1. Purchasing Experience in Automotive Manufacturing (2-5 years minimum)
  2. Strong Sourcing and Supplier Negotiation Skills
  3. Team Leadership and Cross-Functional Collaboration
Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Procurement: Develop and execute purchasing strategies aligned with business objectives, including cost reduction and supplier diversification initiatives.
  • Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage supplier relationships. Lead price negotiations and contract discussions.
  • Cost & Market Analysis: Track market trends and supplier performance to uncover cost-saving opportunities and improve value.
  • Contract Oversight: Lead contract negotiations while ensuring compliance with legal standards and company policies.
  • Performance Metrics: Monitor procurement KPIs such as cost savings, delivery reliability, and quality standards.
  • Team Development: Oversee and support a small procurement team, offering mentorship and guidance.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field
  • Experience: At least 3 years in purchasing or procurement, ideally within an automotive manufacturing environment
  • Skills:
    • Strong negotiation and vendor management experience
    • Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
    • Familiarity with ERP systems, Microsoft Office, Advanced Excel, and intermediate PowerPoint

    Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
