Job Description
BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITY To coordinate outreach duties and transitional supports for the OIPE Office Position duties
- Coordinate student transition entering and exiting the various programs that OIPE supports
- Organize and facilitate Succeed Student Meet and Greet
- Organize and facilitate Succeed Student Move-In and accompanying orientations
- Create outline, schedule, and presentations for New Student Orientation
- Serve as a liaison for campus partners relating to student transition and recruitment
- Organize and participate in outreach programming and outreach events, expect to be available for some evening and weekend functions
- Organize outreach opportunities by communicating with various schools
- Create a database of rotating outreach opportunities, transition coordinators, SSD staff, Special Ed Coordinators, and area guidance counselors
- Develop and maintain relationships with community agencies, community colleges, and school districts
- Attend and host transition workshops and presentations, expect to be available for some evening and weekend functions
- Attend final Secondary Education IEP meetings and transition meetings of students admitted to Succeed, if requested
- Develop and implement a Succeed Summer Experience Camp
- Coordinate with the commencement team.
- Act as liaison for prospective students and families
- Participate and contribute to the development and organization of transitional services
- Actively promote OIPE by presenting to various community agencies, organizations, and schools
- Communicate in person, electronically or in writing with applicants, students and/or parents to convey and exchange information and documents
- Serve on various community coalitions and boards in relation to student transition services
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications
A master's degree in a related field (ie. Counseling, Social Work, Special Education)
Anticipated Hiring Range
