Quality Technician II

Job Purpose

Under periodic supervision, inspect and analyze raw materials, in-process as well as fi nished product samples to secure compliance with product safetyregulations, specifi cations and standards. $24 per/hr

Core Responsibilities

Log samples and sample fl ow within QC.
Retain sample management and sample fl ow.
Performs chemical, physical testing and sensory evaluation of products or incoming ingredients as identifi ed by the current Givaudan specifi cation forthe item.
Enter test results into SAP timely resulting in an acceptance or rejection.
Communicate rejections and information updates to key contacts in Quality, Operations, Purchasing and Customer Care as needed. Types ofcommunications include e-mail, making notes in system and/or verbal.
Perform basic equipment calibrations per frequency noted in calibration procedures.
Perform instruments, equipment and quality deviations troubleshooting in laboratory.
Identify opportunity for improvements in QC.
Maintain work in a hygienic and safe work environment.
Provide backup and support to team members as necessary.
Perform administrative tasks within QC.

Academic Background

Vocational diploma (pre-university level) in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science or related discipline
University degree preferred.

Professional Experience

Overall work experience of 4 to 5 years with 1 to 2 years in a similar position.
Laboratory and/or QC techniques required.

Technical Skills

Operational experience and strong affinity on laboratory system, analytical equipment and instruments such as weighing balance, Densitometer,Refractometer, Moisture balances, Karl Fischer titrator, Sieve testing equipment, GC.
Knowledge on chemical substances, hazardous material and related local regulations.
Basics of Sensory Evaluation.
