Position Summary: The SBA/Commercial Relationship Assistant is a motivated, excellent communicator, who is detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills and the proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service. Responsibilities include assisting the SBA lender with collection and completion of all appropriate forms, gathering the required information and documents, and structuring/closing loans in accordance with current SBA Standard Operating Procedure (SOP 50 10 6). This professional offers the opportunity to work with multiple Commercial Officers and their clients as part of a high performing team.

As part of the position requirements, this role is expected to work onsite in Lincoln 1-2 days per week and in Omaha 1-2 days per week. As part of our hybrid work from home opportunity guidelines, this role provides the opportunity of 1 day WFH each week after the successful completion of onboarding

Essential Functions:



  • Provide excellent, proactive, high-touch customer service for Commercial Loan clients.
  • Work alongside and support SBA loan officer with the monitoring of their loan portfolios, supporting/assisting with their customer relationships, service of existing loans/renewals/extensions as loans mature, follow-up on pending items, ensure complete compliance with loan terms, and all other miscellaneous officer requests.
  • Assist with SBA 1502 reporting requirements.
  • Serve as a liaison between SBA Lender, Commercial lenders, Relationship Assistants, Customers and Third Parties with the completion of all applicable SBA loan documents.
  • Assist lenders with the completion of all SBA or Community development Corp. checklists, closing condition letters, and loan closings as needed.
  • Responsible for coordination with Loan Operations to ensure proper loan documentation, input and submission of data to SBA.
  • Maintain and apply a thorough understanding of SBA loan products, lending laws, regulations and practices.
  • Acquire a strong understanding of all SBA and Commercial Loan products and services, to serve as a resource for our clients and provide effective problem resolution.
  • Coordinate all steps of the loan transaction, including preparing loans for approval and closing, processing loans, assembling and submitting documentation requests.
  • Serve as point of contact for all commercial customers while working closely with and build strong relationships with many other departments within the bank including Wholesale Loan Operations, Electronic Banking, Deposit Services, Treasury Management, etc.
  • Understand and adhere to all bank policies, laws, and regulations applicable to the relationship assistant wholesale lending role. Complete compliance training and follow internal processes and controls as required.
  • Report all compliance issues, violations of law or regulations in accordance with the steps defined in bank policies.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Perform other job-related duties or special projects as assigned.


Qualifications:



  • Minimum of 2 years of lending and or deposit account experience preferred.
  • Sound knowledge of SBA guidelines, regulations, policies, and procedures preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of commercial lending and loan requirements, loan documentation, collateral evaluation, lien perfection and local, state and federal regulatory requirements preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products and in working with other bank software.

Working Environment:

Indoor work - not exposed to outdoor elements or hazards.

Some sedentary work and occasional lifting and/or carrying up to 20 pounds.

This role is eligible for hybrid work from home opportunity under the work from home guidelines upon completion of onboarding.
