This is a full-timeposition located in Fort Worth, TX. For certain positions, including this one, employees can work one day per week remotely. Travelis up to 20% DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist in supervising railroad litigation, including general claims, and other disputes. Respond in person to emergency situations that may develop on the railroad. Assist with development of defense strategies for BNSF. Assist with trials on occasion. Supervise Outside Counsel Serve as liaison with General Claims Department Develop trial strategy and tactics Respond to subpoenas and demands for indemnity; and other litigation matters Manage discovery matters This person will also perform other litigation-related duties as assigned. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as this person must interact with personnel from all levels of the Company. Should be knowledgeable in the following areas of law: Federal Employers Liability Act, grade crossing litigation, trespasser claims, occupational claims, toxic tort, indemnity and insurance.
