The Air Force SEEK EAGLE (AFSEO) team is looking for an Aerospace engineer willing to take the initiative and be a part of a challenging mission. Our mission planning and flight clearance team is in the process of modernizing mission planning tools for the Air Force and future weapons. At the Air Force SEEK EAGLE organization we need innovative aero engineers with a developer mindset for the transition. The Aerospace Engineer will support the Air Force SEEK EAGLE Office tools development and algorithms group in the modernization of all software used for mission planning and flight clearances. Essential Job Functions: This position offers the Aero Engineer an opportunity to be part of the creative force working alongside some brilliant minds. The ideal candidate will be a strong team player, be motivated to learn new concepts regarding aircraft maneuvers and munitions delivery. The position also offers the opportunity to work towards becoming an innovative designer and work collaboratively in an Agile software development environment. The ideal candidate collaborates with other engineers and software developers without prompting to analyze, design and implement features for our software tool kit. The ideal candidate is outgoing and wants to learn more about developing aircraft maneuvers. You will participate in iteration planning meetings with testers and Subject Matter Experts (SME), attend daily stand ups, and technical coordination meetings for reporting issues, planning, and providing status. You will also take control of projects and run the reengineering, design and development from cradle to grave. Day to day you will: Apply aero engineering concepts and principles within various coding environments. Assist the development team with the design and documentation of flyout models and aircraft maneuver concepts. The position will require software development applied to modeling and simulation of legacy and 5th generation aircraft, unguided bombs, rockets, laser-guided bombs as well non-conventional weapons. Work hand-in-hand with software architectural owners to ensure all development meets architectural vision and system designs. Develop software tools and algorithms which support the aircraft safe escape and maneuver flyout work within AFSEO. Work with technical lead and senior developers in deriving technical requirements from functional requirements. Contribute to technical design documentation and maintenance of the software. Required Skills: Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required. A Secret clearance is required. A Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical or Aerospace Engineering with 1 - 2 years of experience. Familiar with Software Development or related technical discipline. Experience with C#, React, .NET Standard, .NET Core, and JAVA. Experience developing and/or working with standalone software tools. General knowledge of software development in a Windows and/or Linux environments. Knowledge of Web APIs, microservices and service based architecture. Experience with Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, Git, Jira, Jenkins and Bit Bucket. Familiar with Domain Driven Design. Familiar with aerospace engineering concepts. Familiar with aircraft and munitions. Ability to work in a collaborative team environment is a must. Be a self-starter with a no fear attitude able to ask the right questions and get the job done. Desired Skills: Has taken software development courses. Familiarity with React and/or Web based GUI design. Familiarity with micro services. Desire to work in a DoD environment with the latest aircraft and weapons. |
