Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. This position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek.

We Require

  • Two years of experience performing high-volume office, administrative, or clerical duties

  • High school diploma or GED

  • A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis

We Also Value

  • Associate's degree or higher

  • Four years of experience performing office, administrative, and clerical duties

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Job Contributions

  • Coordinates employee access to computer applications and communication systems and ensures that current and new staff have all the necessary equipment needed for their role

  • Schedules and plans internal staff meetings, which include preparing certificates and reserving the meeting location

  • Trains new administrative support staff and is the point of contact for department administrative processes

  • Manages inventory of office supplies and office equipment; submits requests for supplies and equipment orders

  • Retrieves and delivers highly confidential materials, including but not limited to payroll checks, bus passes, and legal documents

  • Creates and maintains spreadsheets, including employee phone lists, schedules, calendars, and directories

  • Arranges and provides administrative support with other County departments, including facility management, fleet services, and payroll

  • Provides backup coverage for the file room, mail processing, and the reception desk

Working Conditions

  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire

  • Work includes interruptions, time pressures, high volumes of work, and handling multiple, unscheduled, or changing tasks

  • Constant need for accuracy, concentration, vigilance, and teamwork

  • Requires frequent public contact

  • May be required to lift (floor to waist, waist to shoulder, or shoulder to overhead), carry, pull, or push up to 30 pounds
